Friday was the 39th birthday of one of my favorite of celebrities, Neil Patrick Harris! In honor of the celebration, I’ve compiled 5 reasons why I love me some NPH.

1. Doctor Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog

This was my first intro to NPH back in 2008 (dang, 4 years has gone by fast). If you have not seen this go watch the entire thing now. (It’s Joss Whedon, so you know it’s good). NPH plays a lovable singing villian. A sequel has been long-promised and I cannot wait, eepp!

2. Aaaand speaking of singing, he has hosted the Tony Awards three times now. And been a complete baddass while doing it.

3. Barney on How I Met Your Mother. Duh.

4. Every picture ever of his partner David Burtka and their kids is INCREDIBLY ADORABLE.

5. Doogie Howser, MD.

NPH got his start as a child actor in this goofy late 80s/early 90s sitcom about a boy genius who becomes a doctor at age 16, and hilarity ensues. If you ever catch reruns on TV, definitely check it out. I love this SNL digital short spoofing the intro music :)
