Yesterday we rounded up some pretty amazing Pinterest projects gone wrong, and today we’re focusing exclusively on baking. Often baking is one of those things where, regardless of the aesthetic value of the outcome, the aftermath of your efforts are usually tasty. That is unless you try to bake something on a plastic cookie sheet. Yep, people try that. Take a look below to see some more unfortunate moments in baking.
See, I bet these still tasted fine. I don’t know how they got them into the oven — those Pilsbury slice-and-bake sugar cookies are SO tasty straight from the package… I can make myself sick eating the dough! Some folks were less fortunate in the aftermath of their baking efforts, and I totally feel for them. Check out more in the gallery and tell us,

HAHAHA!! Most of these are just common sense mistakes. I want to make cookies now.

@KatieK - i thought of you while writing this. youre macarons and cookies always look perfect and it made me realize how much finesse is actually involved

Hahaha! Yes, I have, but not nearly as bad as the ones pictured above. Which is why I always use a large cookie sheet under the pan when I try a new recipe. And start checking for doneness much sooner than noted on the recipe (visually at first, thank goodness for the window on my oven door).
@KatieK - I have encountered many people in my life (thus far) who lack common sense. You should totally make some chocolate chip cookies.

I work at a cooking camp over the summer with kids as young as first grade, and thankfully we’ve never really had horrific baking fails. Last summer, we did manage to bake a loaf of bread the size and shape of an oven mitt, which was more impressive than anything (and delicious):

Wow. Just… wow. The idiocy leaves me speechless.

@Broken_Black_Moon@xanga -
I made cookie cups that way, but you mold the batter, it’s cookie dough, not batter and it works if you use the correct type of cookie.

I don’t bake very often, I don’t like having to measure stuff, I’d much much rather cook, but when I DO bake I am always pretty lucky. And I’m a great cook, I’ve only had ONE fail and it’s so silly!

hahaha that pizza one is hilarious!
a lot of these look like common sense mistakes though… like clearly the cookie monster ones weren’t going to come out right the person had some nasty, slimy frosting and it doesn’t even look like they tried to use a decorating nozzle… hello!
guest
@HopeWithinReach@xanga - Ooooh. That makes a little more sense. Obviously the person trying to do this with the above photo did not do a very good job. XD

The cat poop cookie and the creepy pie made me LOL! The Cookie Monster cupcakes made me LMAO!! Often people make mistakes while cooking that can produce really funny results. It’s best to laugh and have a plan B!

This makes my heart tremble with hilarity!

I’ve done the cupcake thing, because I suck at making cake of any kind from scratch. My cookies are great though! So I got one thing!

Apparently Voldemort had another horcrux… that pie…

@HopeWithinReach@xanga - I know exactly how you feel, I love to cook but think baking is so boring. Oddly though, I’ve always had pretty good luck when I am baking.
