If you grew up in the ’90′s, there’s no doubt that you once dressed and undressed numerous Ken and Barbie dolls throughout your childhood. Between my two sisters and I, we had about 30 dolls combined, and even more little high heels and flamboyant accessories to go along with them. We even had the pink Barbie Dream House and limo that added to the fantasy. 

But what if the lives of Ken and Barbie were actualized and put into reality through photos? That’s what photographer Dina Goldstein does, in order to challenge typical beliefs about female gender roles. Barbie and Ken may just have a little too much in common, and, in reality, be the products of an unsuccessful marriage.
