Leighton Meester appeared at the Ferragamo resort show sporting a combo of the label’s wine-red pencil skirt and peasant blouse. While Miss Meester’s outfits are usually spot-on, there’s something about this ensemble that makes the fashionista look less-than-fabulous.

While I am a fan of both pieces — the design on the skirt is fun, the cut of the shirt is gorgeous, and the color is beautiful — together, it just doesn’t come together. The blouse creates an odd shape combined with the pencil skirt, and completely mars Leighton’s silhouette. And there’s something about burgundy in June that just doesn’t seem right — it’s such an autumn color, it makes me feel hot looking at it right now. And the vast expanse of shoulder and sternum seems too gratuitous, especially with the high ponytail.

What do you think, lovelies? Hit or miss?
