It depends on how much of Lindsay Lohan‘s career you think there is left to save, but one could argue that Lindsay is going all in on her next role to save her floundering acting career. While Liz & Dick will likely be one of the most watched Lifetime original films in a while (I’m just speculating), it’s safe to say it won’t exactly push the limits of her talents. Linsday’s next role in a film called The Canyons is the brain-child of American Psycho writer Bret Easton Ellis, and aims to turn the soil of the “seedy underbelly of Los Angeles.” The clincher? She’ll be starring alongside an award-winning adult-films actor, and the role will require full nudity. 


Recently we’ve talked about Kristen Stewart going topless for the authenticity of her role in On The Road, and it’s not like we haven’t seen Lindsay Lohan nude before, but this is still a distinct step for Lindsay, who somewhere in our hearts we still know as the star of The Parent Trap. According to Ellis the film will involve “full frontal naked banging [of] girls and guys” (hit words, not mine).

 

Oh yeah, and her costar is porn star James Deen, the admittedly sexy star of thousands (yep, thousands) of X-rated films and the winner of this year’s Male Performer Of The Year award for the adult film industry. Ellis is reportedly “beyond thrilled” at the work on the film so far, including Lindsay’s acting. The film is reportedly functioning on a budget of only $200k under the hand of famed screenwriter and director Paul Schrader of Raging Bull, American Gigolo and Taxi Driver. For Lindsay I think it’s a big gamble, but could be the challenging role that brings her some much sought-after legitimacy. And for the sake of my cringe-quota I sure hope so. While critics never seem to run out of dishable LiLo antics, I for one would just like to read something good about her for a change.
