i’m so bored of Avril Lavigne. She’s what, coming up to 30? And she still acts like a 15 year old. She is not punk, never has been punk and never will be punk.

She’s still in Hollywood?  I kind of liked her when I was in high school and she came out but she’s like Katy Pary and the other POP artists who try to look original.  I personally like the look but not on her.  Her music contradicts any attempts at looking “different” and she’s not a “punk” or even a “rebel,” pop artists aren’t.

This was also a popular hair style in the 80′s.  As a hair dresser I thought you’d know that.  But I think it looks okay on her but she shouldn’t try so hard.

I thought she considered herself “punk” before this stupid cut (sorry… I’m just not a fan of this look). ANYwaaaayy, MISS! It’s been done and her looking/acting like she’s rebelling against her parents’ wishes is old.

I have a few friends that still rock the undercut. While I agree she was never truly punk, especially in music, her style has always been more “punk princess” I guess than mainstream. If she’s happy with it, then good for her. I’d need to see her out and about with some actual clothes and stuff to see how she wears it/how she tries to pull it off before I can make a judgement about whether its a hit or miss. How someone wears something is as important as what they are wearing.

She’s hot, but that hair is hideous. On anyone. She needs to stop trying so hard.

I personally love Avril and I am not as shallow as to instantly dislike her because of a decision she makes about her own appearance. I love Avril as she is a talented artist and also a really funny and genuine person, hopefully there are others who feel the same

Looks good, but calling her “punk” is embarrassing.

I don’t know, I think that like if she wants to sell records, she should work on putting out more albums, not on taking her celebrity to the next level using something as stupid as a hairstyle change. However, this is Avril, we are talking about and I don’t think she is out for fame or for the money or publicity. I think you know maybe she got in the mood to see what it looked like and then decided, “Wow. This wasn’t my best idea. Let’s share it with everyone so they know not to do this if the mood strikes them.” Unfortunately, she makes it look so good it’s liable to come back in vogue. Not only that, but like what does that HairStyle Mean about the Essence of her soul? Isn’t that what Haircuts are about…aren’t they about expressing yourself…so what the _____(expletive deleted)________does she mean by this? Maybe her boyfriend is a Baptist and she wanted to say that like …No, Avril is pretty religious. I think she just got in the mood after watching the Gotge Video “Someone that I used to know.” 

I never did like her, she’s a talentless drone who was supposed to originally be marketed as a contemporary country singer.  She bullied people who tried to interview her because it fit the “image” of what she was supposed to be.  She has no identity other than what she gets paid to be.

I’m not really a big fan of her. She was popular back then as sort of a  ’punkie pop star’ but after that, if you see pictures of her she dresses really girly. But then when she came back into music, she was all ‘punkie-pop star again’ again. 

Hit. I used to listen to her when I was like 12, and she was such a punk back then. Not the best music, just a little girl whining, but that eventually led me to actual punk bands and the whole punk scene. She should have never gone all princessy.

Ran it’s course a “few years ago”? Hell, she was born a decade after punk died. She is NOT punk. Never was. A hairstyle doesn’t make someone punk. Ugghhhh. /rant

I like it.  She has a nice bone structure.

If she wasn’t so pre-packaged she might pull it off but it appears to just be another attempt to recapture her glory days, now long over

She was my stray away from Mandy Moore, Christina Aguilera, and all the other ridiculous chicks 90s girls were exposed to. Comparing the Spice Girls to Avril Lavigne makes Avril seem pretty pop punk. Sorry for merely explaining how Avril Lavigne altered my taste in music, on a post…. about Avril Lavigne.

She’s like my age. I think if she’s going for shock value she should just release a sex tape and stop trying to be punk. Her music was never punk, it was more emo girl whining.

@JanEdichotoMY@xanga - It is really hard to grow out.  I had both sides shaved and it thinned my hair out bad, plus you have all those different lengths growing at different paces.  It’s hell to deal with when it grows out but at least, I thought it was worth it when it was new.  

Wow, you people. Just because she got a new haircut, you guys think she’s “trying too hard”? What, people can’t change their hairstyles now? 

And to people thinking she’s never punk – you’re right. And she agrees >>” In a lot of her interviews, she’s been saying through most of her career that she describes herself as pop. Never said she was punk.

  I think she can pull off a lot of looks, but I agree that HAVING a punk-style haircut doesn’t make her punk. That being said, it’s not a bad look on her :-3 The girl’s just having fun! Leave her be.

Oh, Avril Lavigne is still out there? Haven’t heard about her in a while. I just figured she was off being a trainwreck like most celebrities. Oh wait…she apparently was, judging by how she looks in that picture.
