Judging by my hair color and my first name, not many people think I’m Italian. Surprise, I am! My last name ends in a vowel, and if I sat outside long enough, I would even tan. That fact usually is the most surprising.
As an Italian, an Italian who lives in New Jersey, most outsiders love to make fist pump Jersey Shore jokes at me.
In reality, most of Jersey, actually most of the world, is not like Seaside Heights or the New Jersey shore. Nonetheless, the Snooki’s and Pauly D’s of the world entertain us (including me).
Today, Snooki released a quote on a possible baby name for her unborn child with fiance, Jionni. Snooki has decided that her and Jionni like the name Lorenzo “so we can call him Enzo.”
Putting all my feelings on Snooki being a mother aside, I love the name Lorenzo and think it fits the couple well. Maybe it’s because I have an affinity for Italian names (my dad’s name is Vito, for starters) but I feel like they couldn’t have picked a more perfect name for the future “gorilla juice head.” Well, hopefully they won’t have little Enzo practicing ‘GTL’ TOO early…
At this point, Snooki is about seven months pregnant and is currently filming the next season of Jersey Shore. Maybe viewers will be lucky enough to see her pop at the shore house. I guess lucky isn’t quite the right word for that.
Soon enough, little Lorenzo will grace the world with his not-yet-tan presence!

Snooki might not be very smart but at least she has enough common sense to give her child a normal name and not be one of those celebrities who give ridiculous names to their children.

@Saridactyl@xanga - Sad to say, Apple is acceptable. Ingo Rademacher named his first born peanut but named his second son Pohaku, which is hawaiian for peanut. I don’t know why you’d name one child peanut but to name both of them peanut?

@KatieK - Yeah, she was born in Chile. BUT, she was adopted when she was a baby and raised by Italian-American parents — that’s the only culture she knows.

@KatieK - Well she is from Chile. She was born in Santiago, Chile which is where many Italian people immigrated to in the 1900′s I believe, so she could have Italian blood from her descendants, ya never know.

I’ve seen at least 3 posts where you’ve blithered on about being Italian, despite your appearance. We get it.
On another note, cool. Dunno about in the USA, but a boy with that name here in the UK would be called Lauren by his classmates.

lorenzo is such a strong name, my my this little boy is going to have to break away and make a name for himself.. being called “snooki’s son” is embarrassing enough.
