My boyfriend and I are preparing to move, and that means taking inventory of the furniture we need and don’t need. We’ve had the same IKEA dressers for ages, and while they’re in great shape, they’re pretty boring-looking. So before I up and spend some serious dough on a new place to store my duds, I figured I’d consult the Internet for ideas on how to dress up my blah dresser. What I found was pret-ty awesome.
You might already be familiar with my insatiable love for chevrons. I think they’re the “it” pattern at the moment, and before I go slapping them all of the walls of my new place, I figure maybe I’ll give them a whirl on the smaller canvas of my dresser. [Link.]
Mirrors are supposed to make your space look bigger, and I’ve always liked the vintage luxury appeal of them anyway. This is such a cute way to doll up an old dresser. [Link.]
I love the idea of converting the top space into an open shelf. And isn’t it amazing what a little paint-love can do? [Link.]
Pretty much anything that sounds like a daunting task for an accent wall — like high-end wallpaper for instance — will probably do well as a chic furniture upgrade. [Link.]
Lovelies, I think we have a winner. For my tastes anyway. I love sharp lines and I’m not a super girly-girl with my decorating. This 3-D-ish geometric design is just right, and super easy. [Link.]
We don’t have many rainy days here in Austin, but I’ll imagine one soon to get rolling on some unique DIY’s for my new place. It just goes to show, you don’t have to spend a lot to get a high-end look, just a little creativity and elbow grease goes a long way.
Lovelies, have you DIY’d a piece of furniture in your place? What do you think of these ideas?

I DIY most of the stuff in my room, my dresser is a coral colored frame and knobs with the face of the drawers painted black. My closet doors are covered with photos of my friends and such, and I made a hanging wall piece made of mini cardboard frames with stickers inside connected by ribbon

I love the last one! I would definitely do something similar.

I have refinished many dressers, but they were mostly to return the particular piece’s original beauty.
