The trend of wearing clothing emblazoned with a brand’s name or logo comes and goes. Recently Chanel introduced their latest questionable fashion offering — temporary double-C face tats to rock the logo in a new way. And while many (read: most) readers balked at the absurdity of wearing a brand’s logo on their skin, some folks embrace the concept in the form of real, permanent ink. And while I don’t know if these folks take these tattoos seriously or if they just have a really enduring sense of humor, they are in effect branded for life. Take a look.
I’ve actually seen pictures online somewhere of a tattoo just like this one being removed. Perhaps its owner had second thoughts? But really… who could blame him?
On the scale of 1-to-stupid, this ranks high. Wal-Mart? The nation’s largest retailer for all things generic? Not much to aspire to.
I hope this is a girl, for starters. But I have to say, to the untrained eye it does look like those stars and clouds were inked after the golden arches were. So, second thoughts?
Check out the rest of the inexplicable shenanigans in the gallery.
Which of these is the most funny or ridiculous to you?

I don’t mind the Apple ones, except for the one the tramp stamp one (maybe think of a different place to put it?) The one Mcdonald’s one is really detailed and beautiful but they got their catch phrase wrong and it’s def not something I’d ever want.
Pretty sure the Walmart one though is the absolute worst.

Oh man. I actually have seen a brand tattoo in real life. A kid who was probably my age came in to my job (I work at an Oakley store) with the logo on his arm. Now, I absolutely LOVE working for the company and I love the product, but not THAT much. Brand tattoos are a little extreme.

WHY would someone get a cloud tattooed right above their ass?

Being branded, ick.

@sabbygurl@xanga - You don’t say?

McDonald’s tattoos? Now that’s hot!

So how many of these were really thought out? Maybe they were paid to do this?? =\ Or they lost a bet? i like tattoos, but brandings just not for me. to each their own.

Oh jeez. These people will regret doing this when they’re old and wrinkled. ><
Imagine a nursing home full of old people with McDonald’s tattoos…. freaky.

When I was thinking up my horse tattoo I almost went for the Mustang brand, but it’s so common I chose otherwise. It was going to be a kind of wordplay, because I love Mustang horses.

You guys forgot the one where the girl tattooed the xanga logo on herself… though I don’t think it’s TOO cringeworthy.

I have a Monster “M” and the rest of his initials are in monster lettering too. It’s a memorial tattoo. I also have Starbursts, Smarties, Peach Rings, Fun Dip Stix, and Mario in it too.

Dr. Pepper is worthy of getting tattoo’d, chicks just don’t get Dr. Pepper.

I can vouch for the Nike one. No, I don’t have any tattoos, but after working there for only a few months, it becomes your life. Everything it stands for, the product, the story, the life. You bleed orange after a few days into your week-long training about every single aspect about the company.

These people should not be allowed near a tattoo parlour.

Uhm….

I have a couple friends who work for google and have google tattoos. They’re all in good taste, though, unlike the ones above.

Walmart and McDonald’s are the worst tats, in my opinion.
