Life, as we all know, can get stressful. School, work, friends, family, everything just starts to add up after a while, and sometimes we forget to stop and smell the roses. Heck, sometimes we don’t have the time to stop and smell the roses. But a new trend of “relaxing” websites has gained popularity, and calm.com is the latest one.
Many of you might be familiar with the Quiet Place Project, or their affiliate, the Thoughts Room. Both are designed to de-stress and create a distraction-free environment. Calm.com differs in that, instead of being immersed in silence or soft music like the others, it plays soothing nature sounds while a voice walks you through breathing exercises. You can choose from seven different locations, and whether or not you want the vocal guidance. (There’s even a choice for music, if you so desire.)
What I like so much about this site in comparison to the others is that you don’t have to think at all. With the other sites, they make you think about relaxing or have you admit to what’s stressing you out or making you sad. With calm.com, all you have to do is watch a pretty nature scene, listen to sound of the wind or the crashing of the waves, and breathe.
Do you have a favorite “relaxing” site, lovelies? Would calm.com help you de-stress?

I love it! Thank you. I didn’t know those kinds of sites even existed.

I’ve been watching relaxing videos for over a year now, and here are some that I’ve found just great:
Soothetube.com is alright. Not many posts. There is a large “whispering” community on youtube, where people who are good at making people relaxed make their own videos. gentlewhispering is the queen of relaxation videos, and other things that you might think are weird, but are incredibly relaxing!
ASMR is a neurological response that many people experience, so check out the reddit here: http://www.reddit.com/r/asmr/you can read all about it in the side bar!
