I think she’s being a smart-ass about it. There would have been a much better way to approach that; use it as a way to demote self mutilation instead of promoting it. >.< Way to speak to the youth and your fans, Miley! 

I think she’s trying to be sarcastic, but I don’t think she’s doing herself any favors.  She may not be cutting herself, but this is not a great way to put those rumors to rest, nor is she showing a positive example to her fans.

Meh I was/am a cutter/hitter… This isn’t offensive… Cutting has nothing to do with what the “stars” do. At least for me it doesn’t.  And cutting isn’t only an adolescent problem. IT’s a heavy and personal subject that at least from my experience with other self harmers has nothing to do with other peoples opinions about it.  Peoples comments, jokes, and worry don’t have a sway in our choice unless they are very close to us. (Which is very seldom.)

if any child is dumb enough to cut themselves just because Miley Cyrus is doing it, they already need mental help.  personally, i like the picture.  anyone who’s discussed the rumors has trivialized the issue of cutting far more than she ever can.  

ummmm…. she isn’t exposing her wrist… that’s the top of her wrist, not where people stereotypically cut. I think all you psychos, haters and low-lives are blowing a mis-posed picture way out of proportion.

I don’t think cutting is a “bad” thing (it’s a problem, but not yours, unless you cut) or admitting you do it is. You shouldn’t require people to hide the truth, she has a right to express herself.

Kids (her fans) need to be taught to not do as others do, be listened to and taught ways to deal with pain. Otherwise they are likely to start doing messy things anyway.

My problem with the pic is that I feel like she isn’t being real about it. I feel like this is an ‘artsy’ attempt to raise awareness, but there would have been better ways.
Maybe she wants to provoke those who spread rumors. Or she is just being a bitch and sort of making fun of it (that was my first guess).
Of course it could be a scream for help too or a way to ‘test’ reactions in case she admits her problem.

You know what? This picture makes me sick. Thousands of kids are seeing this right now and though WE know she is OBVIOUSLY not being serious, we must also understand that KIDS can’t differentiate sarcasm in matters like this, they are too pure. On top of that, being that I used to have a problem with said actions, I believe this photo is very triggering. 

But worst of all, thanks to the wonders of social networking, media, and desire for readers and ratings, this pic has become VIRAL and we have all become part of the problem. 

Instead of the picture merely spreading among Miley fans, it is now ALL over the internet for EVERYONE to see… Including your kids, too. Good job.

She’s holding up a bracelet whist wearing it to show it off… she’s not self harming. Read the other reports that have been published, and once you realise it’s a bracelet it’s fairly obvious. Calm yo tits people (no pun intended)…

Does this girl not have a PR rep?! There was no need to go about addressing the issue this way. It was an opportunity for her to raise awareness and speak out against self-harm, as she is a role model for many vulnerable young girls, but she let it slip through her fingers. Also, why is she always caught without a bra?

Anyway, you can look at other recent paparazzi photos of her where her arms are bare. There are no scar marks, so if she were cutting, it’s somewhere that’s usually covered up.

The only point she was trying to get across is that she’s dumb.

I’m pretty sure if she were actually cutting herself she wouldn’t be taking pictures of herself like this, even if it is fake. I mean, look at Demi Lovato, she tried her best to keep her cutting secret.
