News broke this morning of Miley and Liam’s engagement, sending Twitter into a frenzy. The tag ‘Miley Hemsworth‘ has been trending ever since, but a new tag is slowly encroaching on the top-trending territory — ‘Selena Bieber.’

This newly-trending tag has sent Miley fans into a rage, and yet another Selena vs. Miley war has begun. It seems the “Jelena” fans are stealing the spotlight from Miley’s happy announcement, and Miley’s army of tweet-wielding fans are not taking it lightly. 


In reality, everyone involved in this “battle” is taking the spotlight away from Miley and Liam’s happy day — yet another example of the dangers of becoming a celebrity in the age of new media.
