It doesn’t happen every day that you get the chance to go to an event like the Miss USA pageant. Unfortunately, I was sick the entire weekend, but I somehow pulled myself together and was lucky enough to attend not only the rehearsals, but the event and the after party. Let me tell you it is so much more amazing in person and if you are given the opportunity to go – definitely go!
We started out at Planet Hollywood to go behind the scenes where we met Miss Teen USA, Miss Universe and the former Miss USA 2011, Alyssa Campanella who is super nice and gorgeous in person as she is on camera and was gracious enough to take a picture with us. We were able to see backstage where all the action happens from their dressing room to where the interviews are done. It was a great experience to see how everything is set up and put together.
For the day of the show, our seats were pretty great and everyone was dressed to the nines for this incredible event – including stars such as Donald Trump, Kelly Osbourne and Rob Kardashian — who asked the most difficult of questions to Miss Rhode Island. Also, I must say that the TV does not do these contestants justice – they are even more beautiful in person. It was fun to see everything happen and how much energy the crowd has.
Afterwards, we stopped over to LAVO where they held the after party with stars like Akon, Rob Kardashian and Giuliana Rancic – whom I was dying to meet, but fortunately still got the opportunity to meet Akon and Rob Kardashian!
All in all, the event was pretty exciting! I’ve never been to any kind of show of that magnitude before and feel very lucky that I was given the opportunity to attend!
Have you been to a pageant? What do you think of pageants in general?

I can’t think of a more boring event to attend, hell I’d rather go to church.

I imagine them to be boring unless you were actually in it.

Haha how cool, sounds like you had a fun time! Is that Akon in your pic? He is looking kinda rough…

I’d rather attend the Olympics or the World Cup. But it’s nice that you had fun, I think the only exciting thing I would get from the miss USA pageants are the dresses.

must be me but i dont find pageants really worth watching. They’re boring. I just skip to the end to see who won.
they’re wayyy too long for my attention span

My gosh, how did you ever get in? I imagine tickets were hard to come by.
I don’t really believe in this pageant, but I admit I’m totally star-struck.
