Most people would be shocked to know how different I am from my parents. While I enjoy curling up with a good book in my perfectly pink room, my parents are old school rockers.

My dad was in a band when he was younger, and I’m pretty sure he still thinks it is 1975 with his long curly hair down his back (thankfully it’s not a mullet). My mom was about the same, and they still often attend concerts for/listen to bands like Nine Inch Nails, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath.  While their love for rock never rubbed off on me, the general knowledge has. I know all I need to from my parents, and that’s why it made coming across these photos so funny. Knowing most of these musicians from the hardcore rock music I hear at home makes it strange to believe how average they all appeared in high school!

No mascara long hair or dark clothes visible. I especially appreciate the lack of face makeup seen on Gene Simmons (above)!
