After 13 years of indie misfits citing Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks Of Being A Wallflower in angsty blog posts (myself included, guys) and manically scrawling “And in that moment, we were infinite” on the walls of public bathrooms, the movie adaptation is finally set to release in September. In it we’ll see all the cool moments (and maybe a creepy subplot or two) acted out by rising star Logan Lerman and all-consuming knockout Emma Watson, who plays a promiscuous teen — quite the departure from Hermione Granger — and rocks an American accent. Check out the just-released trailer below.

I wonder if this will do justice to the book — there are high stakes for a big fan base — or fall short of expectations. Emma Watson is no stranger to that kind of pressure, but I’ll be interested to see how this movie goes over.

Did you ever read the book? Will you be seeing the movie?
