Whenever I am done reading a magazines, I always rip out the prettiest pictures and ads to put on my wall for inspiration. Afterwards I usually keep them around forever before just throwing them away or recycling. However, there are a lot of great crafts to make using old magazines. Here I’ve complied a list of 10 super cute crafts to make with upcycled magazines, perfect for a lazy summer day!
Very cute magazine boxes!
Super cute frame, cat picture not included
This shelf is amazing!
Very simple, but useful: use old magazines to make envelopes!
Make beads and create an awesome necklace!
These vases are so pretty!
Make awesome paper for upcoming art projects, or for wrapping presents.
Weave magazine stripes together to create wall art.
Which craft is your favorite? How do you recycle/upcycle old magazines?

Dont like all of them, but I really like that last one! The weave one, but I wouldn’t have enough patience to make ANY of these
The envelopes are really cool too

I like the boxes/containers and the envelopes. I don’t think the magazines I normally read will make nice envelopes–I think that project is best done with travel magazines.

@babybug329@xanga - Yeah, you don’t want to give someone a card in a magazine envelope with “Ten tricks for an amazing orgasm” or some other awkward cosmo headline on it
Though I bet some people wouldn’t mind one with Ryan Goslings face/abs on it

@Trueinnerbeauty - Exactly! I know my friends wouldn’t mind a pic of Ryan Gosling…or Chris Hemsworth. Or pictures of chocolate cake or cookies, but maybe not diagrams of how to perform a breast self exam or how to spot unlikely symptoms of problems “down there.”

Magazines often make the best wrapping paper (which I frankly don’t see why people pay so much for anyway). But what about covering boxes with pages and making them look cool?

Oh my goodness, this is awesome! Thanks for sharing. I have about a million magazines ( I used to go crazy buying them in high school, and also sell them at my shop, getting stuck with whichever ones don’t sell) and I have absolutely no idea what to do with them. I have on a weekly basis put on boxes and boxes of magazines to be recycled, but it just doesn’t end! I wish I had more time to do arts and crafts, but I’ll definitely keep these in mind!
