Back in my retail-working days, much time was spent with coworkers (and managers) hunched over a computer screen, looking at Yelp. The review site can be a blessing or a curse to businesses, and there was always strained anticipation any time we saw a new review had been posted. While most Yelp reviews were practical, well-thought and helpful, some businesses just don’t listen (or care). Take this pizza place, for example. Despite all of the negative Yelp reviews, they still seem to be running a shoddy business! I can only wonder why…
I’m not one to check Yelp terribly often, but these stories are enough to make me start! It’s interesting to see how many people have gotten scammed, and how long it’s been going on. I wonder if people will start to get wind of this place, and bring about its inevitable downfall! You can read more pizza place horror stories at the source. [via Buzzfeed]

How stupid are people? I mean, yeah, the business is really in the wrong, but I’d hang up on any employee that calls me baby or won’t tell me the freaking price of the item I am ordering.

@MoonFaeEyryan@xanga - I know, right?! I agree!
I used to rely on Yelp.. I would read several reviews of a business because Lord knows people would rate an establishment one star simply because they had to wait. Anyway, we tried a Yakiniku place in NYC while visiting because the majority of the Yelpers claimed how great it was. WRONG. Worst place I have ever been to… were the Yelpers just employees or just plain crazy? Meh. I don’t trust Yelp anymore.

I would hang up on a place that wouldn’t tell me the price. I have a hard time trusting Yelp where I live. All of the reviews are filled with people that whine because they had to wait or because the employees didn’t say Yes, Ma’am.

Wow, how desperate are people to eat pizza at 2 in the morning? Anyway, that is beside the point, because it sounds like this business is poorly run and totally taking advantage of people while they’re intoxicated. I would definitely never give my credit card number over the phone if I didn’t know what the total price is. Yelp is rarely the deciding factor in whether or not I eat at a particular restaurant, or use a particular service. I do use it sometimes, and consider the trends of the ratings. BUT, if I am ordering from a place I never ordered from, you better believe I would at least skim the reviews.

I’ve never used yelp before, maybe some of these people didn’t know about it either? Anyway, If I ordered a pizza I would refuse to pay anything over 20 bucks. I’d grab the shotgun if they bitched.
@babybug329@xanga - In big cities there are a lot of people who often work well into the morning or are staying there on business & have perhaps just arrived off the plane. I used to bartend & by 2 in the morning I would be desperately finding a place that was open because I was starving lol.
