Do you remember the words to Fresh Prince of Bel Air? Or how cool your Trapper Keeper was? If you do, than you were probably a kid of the 90’s. Although I was born in the early 80’s, I fondly remember living in the 90’s and all the great things about it. Here are 15 great things about growing up in the 90’s!
VHS
Back in the day before DVDs, MP3s and streaming video we had to “be kind and rewind” our VHS after watching our favorite movies!
MASH
I’m sure that I’m not the only one who use to play this game with friends, entering in our crushes and predicting our “future” with this awesome game.
TWO WORDS: Lisa Frank
In the 90’s every girl in America (or just about) was obsessed with Lisa Frank. The stickers, the pencils – they were an essential part of our school supplies!
R.L. Stine Books
When I was a kid, we didn’t have smart phones or apps – it was either hanging out outside, playing video games (which was not my forte) or reading. And who can forget spending hours reading Goosebumps or Fear Street??
I remember sitting outside on my porch, in the summer listening to my boombox and hanging out with my friends. This was probably one of the best memories of my childhood in the 90′s! Head on over to the source to see the complete list of other things that made the decade great! [via Buzzfeed]
What are your favorite memories of the 90’s?

@WaitingToShrug@xanga - What if you were born in 1990? Cause thats when I was born and I think of myself as a 90s kid cause I did everything every other 90s kid did
I remember Boy Meets World being sooo popular (when they were younger) in the 90s. Although I never really watched it much, I watched Are you Afraid of the Dark.. One of my fav shows! Why are all the 90s shows WAY better than now a days? Makes me feel sorry for the kids and what they miss out on… Im glad cell phones werent around when I was a kid (I know they were, but they weren’t actually in my hometown until around 2003 lol)

I remember every one of these! I loved R.L. Stein and had Goosebumps as well as Fear Street. I read the Babysitters Club books too. I owned tons of Lisa Frank stuff. Loved going to Blockbuster every Friday or Saturday night to rent videos with my friends. I also listened to cassette tapes on my boombox. My friends and I made mix tapes for each other all the time. I had a slam book and played MASH. I also played with Pogs and slammers! Collecting them was so much fun. I think I had every color troll doll as well. Good times. I miss being a kid.

@bbanmen420@xanga - Yeah, I don’t actually care about it that much. LOL. The ’90s were an enjoyable time.

I was born in 91 so I only remember half the 90′s but almost all the stuff on this list…what I do remember was great.
Except none of the TV memories I have because we had no cable TV and weren’t allowed to watch TV. Though I did watch my first episode of Fresh Prince of Bel Air ever a few weeks ago. And like it…haha.

Now this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I liked to take a minute just sit down
there
And tell you how I became the prince of
a town called Bel-Air
[verse 2]
In west Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground is where I spent most
of my days
Chillin out, maxin, relaxing all cool,
And all shooting some b-ball outside of
the school
When a couple of guys who were up to
no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
I got one lil gun fight and my mom got
scared
And said “You good for nothing move out
with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air”
I Begged and pleaded her all day and
night,
But she packed my suitcase in her …
and sent me on my way
She gave me a … and then she gave me
my …
I put … and said I
might as well kick it
[verse 3]
First class yo this is bad ass
Drinking henessy out of a champaine
glass
Is this what the people of Bel-Air like?
Hmm this might be allright
But wait I hear prissy, bourgeois and all
that
Is this the type of place they should send
this cool cat
I don’t think so, I’ll see when I get there
I hope they’re prepared for the prince of
Bel-Air
[verse 4]
Well ah the plane landed and when I
came out
There was a dude that looked like a cop
standing there with my
name
out
I aint trying to get arrested yet I just got
here
I sprang with the quickness like lightning
dissapeared
I whistled for a cab and when it came
near
The license plate said FRESH and it had
dice in the mirror
If anything I can say this cab was a
pedophile
But I thought naw forget it yo homes to
Bel Air
[verse 5]
I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the cabby “Yo homes
smell ya later”
I looked at my kingdom I was finally
there
To sit on my throne as the prince of bel air
