Nails have become more than a fashion statement. Lately they’re an art form that transcends utility. Granted, super-long nails have always made daily tasks slightly more complicated for the wearer, but these epic manicures — some beautiful, some odd — with sculptural add-ons and epic lengths, are among the most impractical I’ve ever seen. Take a look at the lengths some people go to for truly amazing nails.
There seems to be a few subcultures who use nail art as a means of extreme expression. I personally dig it for artistic appeal, but wouldn’t want to think about scratching my nose or trying to shower with some of these nails on! What do you think of extreme nail art? Is it appropriate for any occasion?

I think all of them look horrifying and trashy. Personal opinion though. I would be too afraid to do ANYTHING with nails like these!

Nails that are that length resemble claws. I’d be afraid of whacking them off. *ouch* Some of the designs are quite beautiful, but personally I don’t think they look good on nails.

When I see stuff like this all I think is “These came off right after the picture was taken”. they would have to unless these gals have someone to wipe their own but. IDK about you guys, but I can only hold it for so long…..

While incredibly impractical, some of these are quite impressive. I would never try to wear anything than a coat or two of nail polish, but the art is beautiful.
