In the summer, I like to wear minimal makeup. Whether I’m hanging out by the pool, out running errands, spending the day with friends or family, I like to keep my makeup routine quick and easy. And I like my finished look to seem effortless. Keep reading to see my summer makeup routine.
I’ve been one to wear a lot of makeup. But no matter what, I always need a little mascara (or eyeliner) and some type of lip balm, lipstick or lipgloss. So my makeup routine for the summer consists of just about those “necessities.” Somedays I will wear foundation and other days, I’ll just wear tinted moisturizer. And when I’m feeling lazy (which is almost every day in the summer), I don’t wear any foundation or moisturizer. But here is a list of the five items I use every day in the summer.
1. LashBlast Volume Blasting Waterproof Mascara (in very black)
2. e.l.f. Essential Beauty Book Eye Set (in Neutral)
3. e.l.f. Essential Eyelid Primer (in sheer)
4. Maybelline’s Eye Studio Master Drama Cream Pencil (in very black)
5. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15
Wearing minimal makeup is great for summertime because it means that I don’t have to worry about my makeup melting off my skin. I used to wear foundation in the summer, but this year I decided not to. I’m so much more confident about my skin now, mainly because it looks fresh and not cakey. I naturally have oily skin so laying off on the foundation has been great for me. Playing up my eyes and adding a little color to my lips really gives me the au natural look I’m going for.
What makeup do you wear in the summer?

Doesn’t mascara make you lose a lot of eyelashes?

@BlehhItsTu@xanga - Only if a) you are pulling at the lashes while removing your makeup, b) you go extended periods of time without removing it (like a few days or longer) on a regular basis, as that would start to really eff with the follicle area and could easily cause an infection. But removing the makeup gently will not result in extra fall-out. However, you can still be allergic or sensitive to one and experience some faster shedding as a result. But sometimes it looks like you are losing lashes more than when you dont’ wear mascara, but similarly to hair on your head if you have something in the hair that is keeping it in place (in this case mascara would be similar to a hair gel or something else with strong hold) then any hairs that were going to naturally shed out will be stuck in there until you remove what’s keeping your hair in place.
