The first trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby was released today, and it does not disappoint. Luhrmann, who directed Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge, is known for his visually stunning films, and this one looks just as stylized as the rest. And while Gatsby‘s grand sets and 3D filming make every shot pop, the costumes arguably steal the show. See a gallery of them here, and then watch the trailer!
With big names like Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan in the cast, the outfits aren’t going to be the only memorable aspects of Gatsby. Though they certainly don’t hurt. I’ve already watched the captivating trailer three times, so don’t be surprised if you devote the next ten minutes of your life to it:
I’m predicting that we’re going to see a lot of flapper costumes this Halloween. Head over to the source to see more stills from the trailer! [via Fashionista]
Are you looking forward to seeing The Great Gatsby?

I would have looked at those, but I didn’t feel like waiting for the page to reload for every damn picture. Can’t wait to see the movie.

VERY excited to see this movie, Baz Luhrmann is one of my favs. I can’t believe Lands End mansion is gone, though…
Wish I could have seen it before it was demolished.

I’m so excited to see this, but not excited about the fact that it comes out around Christmas. Also, these Gap ads suck.

I hated the book.

I love everything about it except for the actors. They just seem wrong. And I didn’t think so until I saw the trailer. I don’t know what it is about it. I guess they just don’t match up to how the characters are in my head.

I’m excited to see this movie. It doesn’t come out until Christmas but that just means I have time to read the book.
