While movie-minded celebrities are busy partying in the South of France, top names in the music industry strolled the Billboard Music Awards carpet last weekend. It was a night of eye-catching style, with plenty of shimmer, lace and fun risks. See some of the night’s most standout looks here and let us know what you think!

My favorite look of the night was Taylor Swift, who went for a red dress with sheer cutouts. While I think the color, cut and style works well on her, my favorite part of the outfit is how slightly shocking it is. Taylor is known for dressing like a fairy princess on the red carpet, and I like that she’s letting out a foxy side here. Hopefully we see some more daring style choices in her future wardrobe!

Katy Perry‘s dress was another personal favorite, and it looked flawless on her, as usual. As a fan of all things vintage, I appreciated the 20s-inspired beading and cut, which was slightly modernized with a mermaid skirt. While the purple lipstick looks a bit severe on Katy, her plum hair is nicely subtle and fun.
