Well, since I love the way my hair looks curly, I decided to try the new technique of curling my hair with a flat iron. Let me tell you: it is not as easy as it looks — it’s actually pretty complicated if you don’t get it right. Although I have seen it done before, I tried to imitate it at home and it just didn’t work out — so I opted for a YouTube video instead.
I found this great video from Before and After TV on how to get those wavey-curls with just a flat iron. Honestly, it’s easier to have someone do it for you, but if you are trying to do it yourself this video helped a lot.

I agree, I wouldn’t mind having a hairstylist/makeup artist at my disposal! But, no, I have not mastered using a flat iron to curl my hair. I can curl my hair with a traditional curling iron with a clamp. However, recently, my curling iron broke so I had to buy a new one. I was able to find one for $17. It gets hot enough to use like a curling wand over the clamp, which makes pretty waves without looking too done.

I’ve been curling my hair with a flat iron for years now. If I want the soft no fuss looking curls, I stick with a flat iron to curl my hair. It’s quick, easy, and looks great.

My hair wouldn’t curl with a flat iron. I tried it so many times, youtubed, and all. My friends even tried it on my hair, nope, not working.

I switch between both depending on what look I’m going for. Also, it helps for me to travel lightly to just bring my flat iron and still pump out many different cute hairstyles on vacations.

I have mastered it. I have really think hair so I have to make sure mine is set at 450 and the edges of the iron have to get a little warm atleast. And I need a lot of moose and hairspray afterwards. It took a few trial runs for me. But it worked and I like the beach waves

I’ll have to try this. My hair NEVER holds curls when I use a traditional curling iron, so maybe this will work better.

her hair color and skin tone are a horrible combination. also, i have a friend who curls girls’ hair with a flat iron way better than this woman did.
