It makes sense that with all the creative minds out there, fan art has boomed on the Internet. We’ve seen photographers like Annie Leibovitz take celebrities and turn them into other a whole new character. Recently, photographer Philip Karlberg created a set of celebrity portraits for Plaza Magazine using only wooden pins and lighting.

I’d have to say that Lady Gaga and Johnny Depp were the easiest for me to get, though after reading the rest, the likeness in comparison to the real person is uncanny. The idea is so simple yet works so perfectly. I do wonder, however, how they would look with pin eyes. Probably pretty creepy, so I think the sunglasses are a much better choice.
