As a kid, I was always a fan of arts-and-crafts, but now that I’m older, I’ve grown tired of the typical “big girl” projects — scrapbooks, picture frames, bedazzling everything in sight, etc. But with a long, hot summer ahead of me, I’ve compiled a list of slightly unusual, but totally cute crafts to keep me busy.
1. Nebula Nail Polish
I’m not usually one for anything fancier than a French manicure, but these nails are out of this world! (Horrible pun intended.) They’re creative, beautiful, and kind of geeky. And really, when else are you going to use that glitter nail polish sitting in your bathroom?
2. Mustache T-Shirt
There is really nothing funnier than a mustache. They’re the perfect combination of classy and ridiculous, and even by themselves they just look so friendly! And this foam-board stamp method is much easier and cleaner than the stencil/spray-paint combination I tried last summer (my driveway never looked the same after that). Though we ladies will never know the wonders of growing and grooming the perfect handlebar mustache, we can still experience their greatness through representation. (And hey — t-shirts are definitely lower-maintenance.)
3. Boho Hairpin
These little hair pins can get expensive, especially the one you have your heart set on (don’t tell me you’ve never fallen in love with the priciest item in the store). But why pay the price of ten venti lattes for an assembly-line accessory when you can custom-make your own for cheap? And if you’re like me, you probably have stray buttons and bobby pins scattered across your room, completely unused, waiting to be turned into something adorable. Just some glue, a couple craft-store feathers, spare felt and voila! The perfect little accessory to spice up your hairdo.
This summer don’t let the heat drain you of your creativity — craft it up!
What crafts are on your list this summer, lovelies?

The shirt is kind of stupid but the other two are nice. I would actually try both.
Hm, thinking about that pin, it looks like it’d maybe get a bit heavy. I’d probably look for plastic hair combs from craft stores instead of the bobby pin.

I can not for the life of me get my nails to look like that! Which is weird because I can paint damn flowers on my nails but that I can not do that. Last time I tried it, it just looked like a mess.
