Whether you’re underage or not, we are all reminded how dangerous too much alcohol consumption can be, especially in the summer months when our bodies dehydrate in the heat. Instead of resorting to a cocktails loaded with alcohol, here are some other non-alcoholic beverages worth trying to quench your thirst. My favorite are the virgin pina coladas my mom blends together when my family and I are out back lounging by the pool. Not only are they icy and sweet, but the fact that they lack alcohol allows me to have a few without feeling any effects (except cravings for more!). 

Pina Colada 

  • 1/4 cup ice (more or less depending on thickness desired)
  • 2 ounces cream of coconut
  • 1-1/2 ounces crushed pineapple
  • 1 ounce pineapple juice
Miami Vice


  • 1 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 oz coconut cream
  • 1/2 oz half & half cream
  • 1 1/2 oz strawberry puree
  • 1 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 1/4 oz simple syrup
  • 1 cup ice, crushed
  • strawberry for garnish
Tropical Champagne 

  • 1/2 ounce creme de banana
  • 1/4 teaspoon coconut extract
  • 2 ounces prepared prepared sweet-and-sour mix
  • 8 ice cubes
  • 4 ounces club soda
Strawberry Daiquiri

  • 1 ounce orange juice
  • 3 ounces frozen strawberries in syrup
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • Ice
“Mock”arita

  • 2 oz. Margarita Mix (store bought)
  • 2 oz. Sparkling Citrus Flavored Soda
  • Dash Key Lime Juice

        For the Salt Rim:

  • Salt 
  • Lime juice
