When Apple put the Siri voice-activation software in its newest phones, I don’t think they had these strange interactions in mind. While the commercials show Zooey Deschanel asking easy questions like, “Siri, is that rraain?” (Use your eyes, Zooey), the things real people are asking Siri are a little more complicated (and more funny), as are her answers. Take a look.
I’m not usually a conspiracy theorist, but I wonder if Siri is compiling all this personal info on us somewhere. People ask Siri some personal stuff. But if so, someone’s having to shovel through a lot of useless crap to get to the real stuff. It is funny to see the little moments in people’s lives where they’re just trying to use the tools afforded to them by 21st century technology — you know, to avoid texting while driving and such — only to have Siri spit nonsense back in their faces. I guess we still have a ways to go before the smart phone can really seamlessly integrate. Frankly I think this is a lot funnier.
Have you ever been frustrated with Siri?

nothing prepared me for when my mom texted me with siri that “she is horny” when she meant to tell me to “come home early”…siri is hard to use for anyone with even the slightest accent

Siri can’t look for stuff where I live, so it’s kind of pointless for me. There was some online discussion about Siri that I found interesting though. Basically people were saying that you could ask her for anything, even to find the best place to dump a body and she would come up with the nearest swamp or something, but when you said “abortion” it wouldn’t go through. I saw a video of someone saying “Siri, I need an abortion” and it told her “First, do no harm”. It’s kind of weird for Apple to make their helper kit political.

@emptyabyss@xanga - yet it will remind you to kill yourself, apparently. It should provide the number to a suicide hotline when someone asks that question.
