My boyfriend and I have been together for over two years, and I’m always finding something new about him that I love and new things that we enjoy doing together. We recently took up the hobby of making puzzles. We stayed up until 1 am, so determined to finish a 750 piece puzzle of Atlantic City in one night!
Love means different things to different people, and the beauty of it is that we can all define it in our own way. Some characterize it as the dreaded “L” word, but others would tag it as “passionate,” “fun” or “endearing.”
I’ve compiled a list of the top 10 things that define love for me. Some are cliche, so please forgive me, but all epitomize “love” in my mind regardless.
10. Holding hands
9. Devotion
8. Bonding
7. Favors
6. Affection
5. Dates
4. Shared hobbies
3. Chivalry (It’s not dead if you find the right guy!)
2. Spontaneous kisses
1. Cuddling (My personal fave)

When he tells me not to get peanut-butter flavored food because then we can’t share it (as I dislike anything peanut buttery).

In honor of Mother’s Day yesterday I will give an example of love that has stuck with me to this day. When my Dad left her for another woman she still, very clearly, had feelings for him. She had been married to him for 18 years. But she loved him so much that she let him go. She fought for the marriage, but when it became clear that he had checked out and was invested in his new woman, she let him go. It had to have been the hardest thing she’s ever done and I’ll always respect her for it. To me, letting someone go is the ultimate way to show someone you love them.

@Shadowrunner81@xanga - That’s so awesome, and to add to that: letting someone go is the ultimate way to show that you love yourself!

Love =
1) Hubby makes my bed each morning. 2) Hubby rubs my hands and feet most nights w/o me asking 3) Hubby asks me if I want anything to drink, eat late at night and if we don’t have them, he’ll gladly go to the store to get the items. 4) Hubby randomly tells me I am beautiful 5) etc.

@Shadowrunner81@xanga - Your mother is a woman of strength
lol @ the gaming image for Devotion. I used to cuss my ex out for calling me during my gaming hours and blame him for the change in KDR. 2 gamers playing different games and being disturbed? Just might be worse.
Overall, good list

My boyfriend of three years is about to have internet finally installed in his house so I dunno if he’ll be pausing much anymore, for any reason. >.>
Even though he’s not very good at it – Sorry, babe, but it’s true! – My boyfriend will give me back rubs randomly. It’s the thought that counts for me. :]

Taking care of me when I’m sick. Taking care of all of the household chores simply because if I did them all I’d be exhausted, so he takes the most exhausting ones, and makes time for the others later. Insisting from the very day we married that I not do his laundry because it’s his, and I have no business worrying about his clothes. For all the times I’ve been hospitalized, sitting with me, making sure I have everything I need for comfort, and always, but always keeping track of the pain schedule. For 23 years, loving my children as though they were his, and always putting their needs first. This all came from becoming a mail order bride, he in Alaska, a school teacher with his own saw mill, and me much farther down in the lower states, working as a nurse with two little kids to feed. As we got to know each other, he began sending money to pay the kids’ dental bills, etc., and always wrote to them as well. Have we be rich? No. But I’ve been cared for like a jewel, and I think those traits should be looked for right up there in abilities to provide financially.

hmm I don’t exactly agree.. These all mentioned are some pretty basic things he needs to do… Love , to me, is way WAY more than that.
I especially hate #9, the picture. I mean, Are you serious?? If your boyfriend stops playing video games for a bit , you should MARRY him?! wowwwwwwwwww.
I don’t know..maybe it’s because guys have done much more than this list for me?
Personally, in my opinion, this list is has really low expectations??…
When you find a guy who really loves you, You’ll see how he treats you and trust me, he will do much more than this entire list.

Without trust, communication, and respect, those 10 things will only get you to the end of the honeymoon phase.
