I was never much for dolls as a child. Posters for Child’s Play literally scared toddler me so much that I didn’t go into video stores for months, and I refused to let any potentially murderous dolls into my room for years. Simply put, dolls creeped me out, and I stuck to playing with dinosaurs and animal figures for entertainment. But thank goodness I never came across anything as lifelike as Noel Cruz’s hyper-realistic figurines as a kid, or else I would have probably avoided toy stores altogether. Despite my past fear of dolls, I’m happy to say that I think these are awesome works of art. I barely have the patience to cut up ingredients for a salad, so I can’t even fathom how intense these must be to paint. I wonder if we’ll see any dolls of more current pop culture characters soon?
