I love Jon Hamm, who doesn’t? I love the Rookie blog, too, and Jon Hamm is the latest famous dude to contribute to Rookie’s periodical feature “Ask A Grown Man.” The segment involves a grown man — hopefully with the implicit wisdom to go with his age — answering five questions from readers of the Rookie blog from the standpoint of someone who’s been there. I think it’s a great feature regardless, because perspective, by design, is just out of any teenager’s reach; but I think Jon Hamm’s contribution in particular is adorably sincere. See Jon’s video for Rookie below.
From “be yourself” to “everybody farts” I agree wholeheartedly with Jon Hamm’s sentiments. I also love that he did this video unshaven in what are likely the clothes he slept in. Knowing Hamm in his most familiar role as Don Draper, we’re used to seeing him very clean-cut and polished, so it’s cool to see him in normal civilian form. Between Mad Men and his role on 30 Rock he’s up there on my list of coolest dudes in Hollywood right now, and I’m glad he decided Rookie was a good place to offer his insights.
Enjoy the video… and the Hunger Games.
What do you think of Jon Hamm’s advice to teen girls?

“So… enjoy the Hunger Games” hahaha.
This was actually pretty good advice! I’m 17 and like to think more mature for my age, but he said some really smart things. Seems like a cool video series!
