Leighton Meester has spectacular skin and I am so jealous. I’ve gotten really good at applying just enough make up to look like I’m not wearing any, but there is quite a bit of mineral powder involved. My skin is prone to dark circles and spots, so most of my morning routine is conceal, conceal, conceal. Either these ladies have acquired the same ‘make-up to look like no make-up’ skill, or they just have naturally beautiful complexions.
I fall into the category of girls who enjoy seeing pictures of celebrities without make-up. Not because I need to feel better about myself as a non-celeb, but because it’s just kind of fun to see the ‘girl next door’ instead of the ‘it-girl’ for a change. Sometimes they genuinely look more beautiful make-up free.
Here are some celebrity ladies I think are just as lovely without all the extra face paint.

I can’t say for sure these women aren’t wearing any makeup in the “no makeup” pics, but many of them look very good without or very little makeup. In the above pics, I would have to say that Kate Moss and Demi Lovato “with makeup” pics that they may be wearing too much makeup. Either way, I don’t really have qualms about leaving home not wearing any makeup. I have more days that I don’t wear makeup then days that I do.

I think they all look better without makeup on, especially Demi Lovato. The excessive makeup just cheapens their natural beauty.

I don’t get the point of these posts. Is it supposed to be, “Hey, even when they’re not trying they still look better than you!”? Personally, I think they look more glamorous with makeup, but then, I’m not someone who tries to identify with celebrities.

@thisisnotaboutyou@xanga - It’s not insecure to acknowledge that someone else is more attractive than you. It would be if that defined my worth, which as I understand it, a whole lot of women do- that’s why I don’t get these without makeup posts. On the one hand, you’ve got people getting really upset over the extreme beauty/thinness/unrealistic standards that these women set, that apparently bother a lot of women and girls and make them feel bad about themselves. On the other, you’ve got posts like these exclaiming that they’re just as beautiful without makeup (I disagree, mostly)- I don’t get it.
But no, I still think that I’m worthy of love and all that. I do think that many actresses and models and ordinary women are more attractive than I, and I admire their attractiveness… it doesn’t detract from my self-esteem.

@KatieK - haha, everyone makes mistakes. i just thought it was funny because both Christina Hendricks and Sofia Vergara are huge pop culture figures and their public images are laughably different.
