I enjoy doing laundry, but I think I might be the only person who feels that way. In my future home, I hope to have a beautiful laundry room. And for you non-laundry lovers, maybe a beautiful laundry will help inspire you to run a couple loads of laundry. Check out the gallery for some gorgeous laundry rooms.
I like all of these laundry rooms so much! A lot of them have many of the same features that I’m looking for in a laundry room. I want my laundry room to be light colored, have a place for folding and have lots of storage.
A couple other features that would be nice would be a sink and a bar for hanging up clothes and possibly a window to really lighten up the room. It would be ideal if the laundry room had a door to the outside so that you could throw dirty clothes in the hamper before tracking dirt all throughout the house.
What would your ideal laundry room have?

These are all very pretty but I wonder how functional some are. Also, I noticed some of them have the detergent and stuff on low shelves which is a terrible idea if you have kids or a pet or ever plan to have any kids over to your home.

My dream laundry room would have a place to fold/iron clothes, a bar to hang things up. The laundry accessories (detergent, fabric softener, etc) would be in drawers/cabinets. I really like the one in the main picture with the door to the outside and lots of a natural light from the windows. I also like the third picture in the gallery with the huge sink.

No, you’re not the only one who enjoys doing laundry but I think we belong to a very small club! For several years in the house where I grew up, our water was heated by coils in a wood-fired cookstove in the kitchen. My mom was up and at ‘em early on Monday mornings, pushing to get breakfast cleanup done so the wringer washing machine could be pulled toward the sink and a bench brought in that held 2 galvanized wash tubs, one for rinsing and one for bluing the white things. She took pride in the outside clotheslines being full in view of the street in front of the house well before noon. Everything smelled and looked so spotless when it was brought in late in the afternoon. No dryer sheet fragrance can compare with the odor of line-dried sheets and pillow slips! I love your laundry pix…. we’ve come a long way since those old days.
