There had been rumblings, but with the release of this poster it’s certain: Amanda Seyfried will play Linda Lovelace in Lovelace, a star-studded adaptation of the real-life events surrounding the first “plot-driven” adult film Deep Throat. The infamous film of 1972 was always steeped in controversy and scandal, but now we get to see the whole story reenacted on the big screen. James Franco as Hugh Hefner? Not to mention like a gazillion other household names — I’m in!

Seyfried is nearly unrecognizable in her brown curls and ’70s attire, channeling the modest appearance of Linda herself (above). The story goes that Lovelace was forced to act in her films at gunpoint by her abusive husband, Chuck Traynor, played by Peter Sarsgaard. Should be a great plot line. Other big names include Sex and the City’s Chris Noth, Sarah Jessica Parker, Adam Brody, Sharon Stone, and Chloe Sevigny. I can’t wait to see them all done up ’70s-style.

I’m personally really excited to see this movie because it sounds like it’ll be up there with Boogie Nights as an instant classic. While the story itself is compelling, I’ll bet the cast will serve to really bring the plot to life. The film is due out later this year. Check out some stills from Lovelace in the gallery!
