I thought she would have picked something a little more feminine, but it’s not the worst celebrity baby name I’ve ever heard.  It just seems like she was pregnant for a long time because probably because her belly got big early on in the pregnancy.  But then again, some women just grow really large bellies when pregnant and others don’t. 

More than 9 pounds, I bet that hurt.

What’s with all these boy names for girls? Mitchie in “Camp Rock”, Teddy and Charlie in “Good Luck Charlie”, Maxwell Drew for Jessica Simpson’s baby…apparently it’s the new trend.

Maxwell Drew isn’t so bad considering other celebrities name their kids with ridiculous, bizarre names. Hello? Pilot Inspektor? Audio Science? Roxie Crimefighter? Jermajesty? Poor kids. Anyway, perhaps Jessica’s baby will go by Max or Maxie? Congrats to Jessica btw!

I love boy names for little girls. This is cute. Makes me think of Maxwell house coffee though. I think it’s a pretty good name.

Maxwell is Eric’s middle name and his mother or grandmother’s maiden name.  Drew is her mother’s maiden name.  I agree Maxwell isn’t the best choice for a girl though…definitely think Drew Maxwell would have been a better choice.

I was shocked to find that they had chosen a normal name…until I realized the baby was a girl. I have this theory that girls with guy names turn out to be cuter, but that’s when the guy name is at least somewhat unisex (Ryan, Charlie, Kyle, etc.)…Hm Maxwell may turn out to be a really cute girl then!

I love that name!!!!! Not some stupid celebrity name I’m surprised.

Haha, I was like, Wow, what a sensible, normal name!  Oh, wait… It’s a girl…. 

I’ve long considered naming a son Maxwell, but not if it becomes trendy for girls. :/

See, I like the name Maxwell for a girl. Why do names have to just be for one gender? I think calling a girl Max or Maxie is really cute congrats to Jessica!

I heard it was a pretty awful birth & she ended up having to have an emergency c section. 

Firstly, as I suspected, the baby is quite a big baby. Secondly, the name is fine IMO because it can be easily made “girly” if they want to call her Maxi.

Maxwell Drew is a BOY’S name. I don’t care what you say, no one will ever make me think otherwise. And I read that as a nickname they are going to call her Maxi.

I’m sure kids won’t make fun of the poor girl by calling her Maxi pad her whole life…

@ShimmerBodyCream@xanga -  you are an idiot.. her baby was huge she needed to gain all that weight.. she is not fat she is pregnant… and will lose all the weight…  I had big babies like that and gained 70 pounds with each..and lost pretty much all of it few months after.

I dunno…I find Maxwell charming. Not necessarily unisex, but it can be made gender-neutral.
