Coco Rocha looks amazing on the cover of this month’s Elle Brazil. So why is she angry about the photo that was published?
Though most top models have no qualms about showing skin, Coco has a surprising stipulation in her contract, which states that she will have “no nudity or partial nudity” in her shoots. If that doesn’t seem to mesh with the barely-there dress seen above, it’s because Coco was wearing a body suit under the gown…which was later Photoshopped out. She stated that:
I wore a body suit under a sheer dress which I now find was photoshopped out to give the impression of me showing much more skin than I was, or am comfortable with. This was specifically against my expressed verbal and written direction to the entire team that they not do so. I’m extremely disappointed that my wishes and contract was ignored”
While the shot and the dress look beautiful, it’s simply wrong to achieve such results by taking advantage of someone. Hopefully Coco’s rightful outspokenness doesn’t cost her any future modeling gigs. [via Fashionista]
What do you think of the photo? Is Coco right to be angry?

She does if it was in her contract she should sue them!

“Hopefully Coco’s rightful outspokenness doesn’t cost her any future modeling gigs”? Come on. What a stupid ending line to a post that could’ve been totally empowering & supportive.

She should give them hell. It specifically says it in her contract and I would say that the cover that resulted definitely constitutes “partial nudity.”

It’s clearly a violation of contract. Also, you can tell it’s fake; her body is not the right shape and she has no apparent nipples.

her contract was not violated, sorry. she was not nude or partially nude in the shoot. If the language in her contract does not indicate they can’t make her look nude, then sorry, she has no case. If it only says they can’t shoot her nude or partially nude, they didn’t. Obviously they didn’t or she would not have agreed to the shoot.
Do I think its right, no, they shouldn’t have used trickery, but she can’t complain if they didn’t violate her contract.

I spy no belly button.

The picture is stunning, but it really doesn’t leave much to the imagination. It looks like body paint or something. However, i’m not sure if they can sue Elle just because a body suite might not classify as partial nudity but it was definitely unprofessional of Elle.

I don’t know if she can sue Elle. I don’t even know if it is a contract violation. But she TOTALLY has a right to be pissed off! What Elle did was wrong. Even if it isn’t a contract violation, they had her wear full clothing and then photoshopped her clothing off. If this were the real world and someone did this to someone else’s photo, then not only would it be considered a type of bullying, but it would also be morally and possibly legally wrong. I don’t even know what is wrong with people anymore.

@Erika_Steele@xanga - Actually, she can still complain even if they didn’t violate her contract because they still violated her basic human rights. It was immoral of Elle.

@SuburbanSweetheart - to be fair, Lovelyish just ripped this off another site…lol. They didn’t even write it.

@Ms_Lola_Mae@xanga - she can complain, yeah, but she probably doesn’t have a legal case.

@Ms_Lola_Mae@xanga - yea. complain wasn’t the right word. I didn’t catch that.

I don’t see how she has a complaint. She isn’t nude, nor does she appear to be nude. No nipples, no belly button. But I’d guess I’d have to see the original picture to be sure. She simply doesn’t look nude.
