When I was little, I would play with my Barbie dream house and think about the dream house I’d someday have. Well now that I’m grown up and realized the cost of things, I guess my dream house will just have to be a dream house unless I hit the lottery. Anyways, I still have in mind a couple things I would want if I could ever get my dream house. Keep reading to see my top five choices.
While I would want a lot of different things in a dream house, I narrowed it down to five things. These aren’t in any particular order. So here goes.
1. Big Book Shelf
2. Secret Door
3. In-ground Pool
4. Sunroom With Lots of Windows
5. Covered Patio
What would you want for your dream house?

Yes to everything but the pool! My dream house would most definitely have a very large fireplace and my own personal library.

My dream house would have a big yard and part of it fenced in for my dog, a lot of windows, a sunken living room, a theatre room, a deck (or a few), a porch, a huge walk-in closet, and a kitchen with tons of counter space and cupboard space. Nothing super special.

My dream house would have a large bookshelf too. And now that you mention it, I want a secret door. A walk-in closet, a garden, and lots of windows.

heated toilet! lol

I would have a large library (or at least a room for my books. I have to realize I have big dreams but a tiny budget lol), an indoor pool (I’m a sun phobe) & stained glass windows.

My dream house would have the beach as a backyard, my dream kitchen, a beautiful porch, it would be two stories and have a built in garage.

I want a HUGE library (I’m thinking Beauty and the Beast) and a gorgeous, lush, overgrown garden (a la the Secret Garden).
guest
I’d take the bookshelf and heating.
guest
A Carrie Bradshaw closet. But better.
guest
Recording studio, a room that has maple floors and white walls, 1 wall of mirrors (dance studio!), hot tub, swimming pool. Rather attainable, minus the recording studio.
guest
A library like the one in Beauty and the Beast. And a nice big kitchen with higher than average counter tops as my husband and I are tall.
guest
Tons of clever bookshelves and cozy reading spots and TONS of natural light.
guest
an amazing kitchen is all I ask for!

Library, sunroom, and kitchen. MUST.

definitely a big book shelf. i wouldn’t have the covered patio though cuz i feel like i wouldn’t keep it clean! dust and stuff would be everywhere

a manual elevator like in the titanic movie where you have to pull on the chain to get to the next level. my own garden like the exhibit from the bellagio hotel in vegas
hiring the horticulturists to maintain and decorate my garden will probably cost more than the house
I’ll just live in the garden
I want a dream garden
I’ll sleep outside in the garden under the moonlight with my lover
I don’t want anyone to bother me, not even the mail man. I’ll live on a patch of private island and decorate it as my dream garden
now where is that 1 billion bucks

Spiral Staircase, a fireman’s pole AND a tower like they have in castles that would have a library all up the wall… I liked what you had a lot too. The secret door looked like a fun idea.

I want a tower with windows for walls, withthose comfy benches for seats I can lay on and read or whatever. A huge library with a sliding ladder. A wrap around porch with a lush garden. A big soaking tub with lions feet.
guest
A giant indoor slide to get downstairs, an indoor/outdoor connecting pool (that’s like, half in the living room and half in the garden with a swing over it), a giant hammock, a library like in Beauty and the Beast, stained glass windows, a giant loft bedroom with a jacuzzi and my own personal penguin enclosure!

A indoor pool, a solarium, and awesome closet, a great room just to read, a studio so I can make my jewelry in peace, a giant fishtank (like a wall), a great kitchen, an amazing garden with a pond
guest
A conservatory and a library.

I like idea #2, 3, and 4. Those are must haves. I wouldn’t want a house, I want a castle!! Almost like the one from Beauty and The Beast or Princess Diaries 2. Have that huge walk in closet, or a big library and ballroom from Beauty and The Beast. Yea, I’m such a big dreamer >.<

@Twirly_Red3@xanga - i was thinking of the same thing from beauty and the beast!! lol love that movie.

My dream home would include all of the above plus these additions:
6. Spiral staircase in the house as well as in my room. The spiral staircase in my room would go to the attic.
7. An amusement/waterpark in the backyard with my own private jet.
8. An escalator in the house when I want the slow and easy.
9. Private chefs with a ginormous restaurant sized kitchen.
10. A movie theater
11. An Olympic sized infinity pool
12. A basketball stadium
13. My own private mall with glamorous stores
14. A B&N bookstore
15. An arena for concerts
16. Houses for guests
Hey a girl can dream!
All of us can.
I am a dreamer at heart as you can tell lol.

Definite library with wood paneling, floor to ceiling bookshelves with those ladders attached that can spin around the room. Maybe a spiral staircase leading to a partial second floor.
guest
A “time-out” room for me. My BF and kids can drive me nuts sometimes.
guest
1. A big library with a huge stuffed leather chair and a big sprawling wood desk.
2. Stained glass windows.
3. A Moroccan and Indian-styled room.
4. A Mexican and Spanish-styled kitchen.
5. A wide Southern porch.

Honestly I just want something cozy with an eat-in kitchen. Any time I think of having a house, I think of what a pain it would be to keep clean. I guess I just really want my dream apartment (too bad not even $1200/month can get me that in Philadelphia
)

All of those are pretty cool and dreamy, but there are few things wrong. 1, swimming pools are extremely energy intensive, consumes a lot of water, and are expensive, and 2, you should include a garden in there because in the future when food and oil prices hit the ceiling, you’re not going to want to be dependent on a grocery store for your food.

THE POOOOOOOL– but it would have to be indoors because I don’t want to get tanned.
