Lindsay will be fantastic if she can keep her partying ways from putting her acting ability in the toilet.

If she has her life under control, she will do a great job.

I think many people forget that out of all the crazy party girls, Lindsay’s the only one famous for actually being an actress and being good at it…So I’m excited and hope the best for her!

I didn’t realize this was a made-for-TV movie. Does that mean it won’t hit theatres at all? In that case, I guess I care a lot less.

Too much of an Elizabeth Taylor fan here.  Lohan just doesn’t have what it takes.  By that I mean looks.  Try Zeta Jones.

@Pollypinks@xanga - Looks matter far less than acting chops. Besides, Ms. Zeta Jones is a bit too old for this role now. (Not that I think she’d necessarily be great for the role anyway, but yeah.) A lot of actors get bagged on because others think a certain actor won’t live up to the actor they’re portraying in film. Like, what are you expecting? Someone who’s a walking, talking, identical clone of her? Nah. Lohan can act, though, when she wants to, don’t judge til you see the movie in question. That’s what I’m going to do at least.

@lttlegel - And you’re… narrow-minded? Judgemental? Prudish, I dare say? Nothing wrong with being open about wanting to see some boobies. Nothing wrong with calling them “juicy melons” either. I’d rather boobs be called that for all eternity than for the word “va-jay-jay” to come out of anyone’s mouth ever again honestly. So yeah, I would be cool with seeing her boobies too, and I am a straight female.

I have a hard time believing that she has her life together, so no, I don’t think she’ll do that great.

 I’ll be trying to catch it when it’s finally on. I’m hoping that she finally makes a good “comeback” into acting and that she finally cleans up whatever there is so she can get back on the acting path.

I agree that acting chops are huge.  But when you put someone in the role of an icon, it’s a lose lose situation.  And yes, I’ve certainly seen Lohan act, and in my 59 years on this planet, I’ve seen I’d say close to all of Taylor’s bodies of work, and I’m sticking to my guns.  Lohan’s voice isn’t close because she’s smoked it away, and she doesn’t come close in looks.  You have to at least come close in looks, and even as a very young actress, she didn’t.  You are right about Catherine, as she’s too old, but not for the later part of Elizabeth’s life.  What they will do is a horrible make up job to age some young actress, and there’s nothing more bastardizing than that.  Make them look like hell so they will look older.  But Taylor never did get all the wrinkles and crap that they’ll pull off for this one.  I still don’t have any wrinkles, and am offended by the way Hollywood makes up older actresses.  Too risky for Lohan.  She hasn’t been clean long enough, and the voice is too hoarse.

She is getting paychecks instead of the help she needs. I think this role could have been better suited for someone fresh and hungry for opportunity. 

In my head no one can play Elizabeth Taylor to perfection, but that’s because I’m an enormous fan of the lady. But I do believe Lindsay Lohan is genuinely very talented, so maybe this will be the boost she needs.
