On Friday, Forever 21 officially launched their “Give to Love. Love to Give. Samburu Collection.” Not only is this line super cute and fun for summer, but it also supports a phenomenal cause.
Forever 21 has teamed up with The Samburu Project in Northern Kenya to provide easy access to clean, safe drinking water to communities throughout the Samburu District of northern Kenya.
Over 4,500 children die daily because they don’t have access to clean drinking water. So, to help, Forever 21 has created a line to not only represent the Samburu people, but also to help raise money for the Samburu Project for clean water.
10% of all profits will go directly to the project. If my bank account allowed, I would probably have all of these items in my closet already. I absolutely love the Geo Stripe Bikini! And I’m always a huge fan of companies that do philanthropic work. Way to go Forever 21!

Lovelies, do you like the collection? What’s your favorite piece? Are you a fan of philanthropic collaborations in fashion?

I have not seen the collection, but the way you describe it seems cute and looking at the picture full of bright colors and fun patterns seems perfect for summer
They also did this a year or so ago when the tsunami hit Japan.

Way to go Forever21! I looked at the collection and I’m definitely going to be buying something from there when I get more money in myself. It’s nice to see places like this donating to countries that really need it. When my business gets big enough I’m going to be donating a portion of my funds to a charity too. I think it’s the best way to spend your money, helping others.

Isn’t this a company that depends on sweatshops?

They should donate more than 10%…sorry but that seems stingy.

I agree that 10% seems stingy, but at least their efforts are helping raise awareness. Anyone who is interested in the subject of providing clean drinking water to third world countries should watch the documentary “Flow.” I believe you can stream it for free online. Very informative and eye opening!

I hate when companies come out with their knock-off “cultural” line like “Navajo Inspired” or this kind of thing. it isnt “representing” the people, it’s making a cheap knock off of their culture in order to profit.
“geo print”? yeah, that totally represents a whole culture.
