Maybe I’m late on this, but I am just now hearing about Kimbra. The singer/songwriter from New Zealand has been compared to Nina Simone and Florence & The Machine, but for me her music reminds me of one of my secret loves, The Cardigans. Remember ‘lovefool‘?
Kimbra’s music has topped the singles charts in Australian, but more recently her song with Gotye ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ is the number 1 in the U.S.
She is one bad chick when it comes to style too! Her look is just amazing with just the right touch of vintage flair and her videos just kind of blow me away. Just go ahead and add her to the list of style icons right now.

I’m actually currently hooked on that Gotye song. I’ve never heard of her before that song, but I don’t think her type of music is my taste. Her look is nice though, I like her style. Glad to see female performers who aren’t set on showing every square inch of skin they’ve got.

Squee! (: I love Gotye, which isn’t too hard to guess. As for Kimbra, it is always nice to see someone bring a fresh and appealing style that isn’t being overtly exposed, right now. I think her out-fits always come together nicely. I clicked on the article for that sequined navy top she’s wearing in the first photo. It is divine!

I don’t dislike her and her style is very neat, but her music isn’t really my thing. I listened to Settle Down after hearing her sing with Goyte and it was just…yeah, I don’t really enjoy this.
Really, I’ve listened to other stuff by Gotye and haven’t been that into either.

I adore Kimbra. She’s very charming in interviews too. I’ve been hooked on her for the past couple months. I hope she comes out with more soon and stops touring with Gotye. I saw them in concert a few weeks ago. A good show but she literally came out for like 60 seconds and was gone. :/

I love Kimbra. I actually found her from the Gotye song. I don’t care much for the recorded Gotye song unfortanely. I saw him perform a live version and it was 10000 times better.
If anyone likes the song “Wandering Limbs” there is an acoustic version on youtube that is AMAZING!

I listened to Settle Down before I heard the Gotye song. I was really entranced by the video, especially the beginning. She has such a stage presence.
