Jumpsuit, romper, playsuit — they’re all names for the one-piece shorts-and-top combos that are popping up everywhere this spring. They started out as glorified bathing suit cover-ups, made of jersey and hardly appropriate for wearing to social outing; But now they’re being made in all sorts of styles and materials, making them not only comfy and easy-to-wear, but also spring event-appropriate and chic. Take a look at 5 classy rompers for your spring events.
Spring has sprung, and that means white is the ticket to a crisp look for an outdoor party or a happy hour with friends. Pair this with a long-line blazer for a more evening-appropriate look. Feel free to treat this jumper as a blank canvas for accessorizing, or just throw on a pair of gladiator flats for a cute day look.
Cooperative Nautical Romper – From Urban Outfitters
Not everyone is into their one-piece looking like a one-piece. In that case, this all-in-one nautical ensemble from Cooperative (hands-down my favorite brand at Urban Outfitters) could be just right. Flattering diagonal lines draw attention to the bust line while diminishing the waist — pretty brilliant tailoring if you ask me. This piece would look amazing with a detachable collar necklace for extra flair.
A cropped ankle and trouser pockets are the subtle details that take this tailored jumpsuit from a spring knock-around to a high-fashion piece. Think: it’s a top and pants in one, and far-and-away the best thing anyone’s going to wear to that reception you’ve got coming up. This standalone piece does fine with just some gold jewelry, but if you’re feeling loud, a black blazer wouldn’t hurt the look.
Pins and Needles Sateen Jumpsuit – From Urban Outfitters
A black sateen jumpsuit is a great way to ease into the trend, if you’re uncomfortable with the idea of an all-in-one garment like this. The black sateen is undeniably sophisticated, and is again, a great backdrop for any way you choose to accessorize. The model’s shoes in this pic would be just about my last choice to complement the outfit, but a pair of super-bright heels would be a great way to dress it up.
If it’s a concert, outdoor festival or shopping with friends, a romper like this is the perfect blend of this year’s trends and a breezy spring silhouette. You’ll look so put-together without even trying.
If you’re looking for a twist on the usual flowery sun dress, maybe a chic and easy-to-wear jumpsuit or romper is right up your alley this spring. It doesn’t hurt to try it on, and you might be pleasantly surprised!
Are you a fan of the jumpsuit trend for spring?

Loving that tropical one!

I really like the one under the title…the nautical one isn’t that bad either. I don’t tend to like rompers in general though because they tend to be ugly and they really don’t work on those of us blessed with big boobs, haha.

Are there any rompers for a petite (105lb, 5’1) frame and a large bust (size D)?
