I am personally shocked, horrified and offended that the lighting in this picture is done in such a tacky manner. Seriously, people! 

I find the ad a bit strange for a clothing brand just because I can’t see the clothes, but instead their politics, but definitely not offensive. However, I do find the whole situation strange.

First that UO donates money to Santorum’s campaign to begin with….I would imagine their demographic would be with youth who generally are more attracted to Obama’s campaign. Also, I do find it odd that they print the ad while supporting a very conservative politics, seems quite contradictory to me. 

Too bad they didn’t put more thought into the clothing featured in the photo because both outfits are ugly in my opinion.

I can imagine that many people like to buy from companies that help fighting for their rights in a way. It’ll do them more good than harm.

They want the attention. It was smart of them.

One million moms should move to the Middle East where all crimes of morality are punishable by death, they seem to get off on that idea. But at the same time these women are probably too selfish to sacrifice their computers and tv’s that they constantly troll. 

I’m not against LGBT people, being one myself, but I’m fucking tired of the media using lesbians/bisexuals as a sexy marketing tool. Ever since Madonna and Britney kissed it’s just been so incredibly overdone.

I’m far more bothered by the fact that they both look malnourished and are dressed in what appears to be high school formalwear from the early 1990s.

I’m so tired of this stick up their asses some Americans seem to have with gay people. Lets just please get over it and move on.

Sweet Mother of Jefferson Davis. That group will get upset about anything that isn’t white-bread, straight-laced, and non-offensive to their little minds. I mean, they get upset over homosexuals, Sports Illustrated, and Ellen. Have they never heard of the concept of turning off the TV if they see something that bothers them? Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean no one else should get to experience it ever. 

@MoonFaeEyryan@xanga - Partly agree, but at the same time it has made same sex kissing a non-issue among girls. Boys are allways behind anyway, they’ll have to step out of the closets. And, whatever upsets One Million Moms can’t be bad.

I think it’s funny, though, that people are offended by this, especially because it’s geared toward teenagers. Do these people forget what it’s like to be a teenager? Teenagers see this everyday. If this is the WORST (not that I think this is bad, let me clarify) that a mother is concerned about their teen seeing, they’re doing a pretty awful job at parenting. Hahah, go to a teen party. 

@love4meislove4U@xanga – I agree, except that it’s made people see bisexuality as nothing more than a “phase” or something convenient for men; women are always portrayed in TV shows as having sexy encounters with women, but relationships are something they reserve exclusively for men.

Ahahaha! If it isn’t one thing, it’s another. Good grief Charlie Brown! First, I don’t think any of this..it’s the 21st century..not that many of us would remember point blank but x amount of years ago..a woman showing her ankle was considered scandalous! :O 

Basically, here’s what I think will happen..just like with Ellen DeGeneres & One Million Moms trying to get JC Penny to drop her like a bad case of the runs; them trying to fuel yet another outrageous, pretty much anti-gay campaign towards UO is going to backfire. These people need to wake the fuck up & smell the roses. Times have changed & it’s becoming more & more acceptable for free love to be emblazoned in magazines & ads. 

I think One Million Moms should be renamed to One Million Women Who Would Rather Bitch About Anything Than Take Care Of Their Kids. Nevermind, it doesn’t flow very well. I knew it wouldn’t be men bitching, though.
It’s no worse than any other couple kissing, not that I see any relevance to anything they’re trying to sell, but I guess sex sells everything….

1. The CEO donated money, most likely from his funds, not the company. 2. Their outfits suck, which is terrible because I usually like UO clothing. 3. As an ad, this is terrible staging and lighting, they need to hire better techs. 4. I think we all know that even if they yank the ad because OMM has a serious issue leaving things alone, that LGBT won’t just go away. Caesar was gay for goodness’ sake, and he ruled a rather large kingdom for a rather long period of time. So, they need to give it a rest now. LGBT has been around forever, and will not vanish because you will it to do so.

It’s not offensive, but it’s definitely strange for a clothing company.

Then again, pretty much all of Urban Outfitters’ ads are strange.

One Million Moms as well as National Organization for Marriage (NOM) are jokes. OMM needs to change their name too. An organization with the word million in it who can’t even get more than 30k likes on facebook is rather stupid.

theres nothing wrong with the fact that two girls are kissing, but it’s not appropriate for a clothing ad .. sorry, but they could be doing anything else .. it sucks that this kind of thing is a tabboo, but if it’s creating controversy then obv people have a problem with it. i personally couldn’t care but still …

My main problem with UO is that they choose horribly ugly models, tell them to look depressed, and turn their knees inward.

Interesting because the outfits aren’t that great.  And we know Santorum hates anyone not hetero, anyone poor, anyone using birth control, and anyone who doesn’t back up his military aspirations.

The photo isn’t offensive (as it could be if the women were dressed as if they were coming off a porn shoot and they were like deep throat kissing each other..which to some people don’t find that offensive either) but what I mean to say is, it’s two women and they are sharing a little peck on the lips. It’s not offensive. I think its nice to see ads that do show different lifestyles. As long as I’ve been alive (which I admit isn’t very long) it’s only been a couple of years and I’ve only now seen some commercials that show mixed families but even those commercials come few and far between. This is the last thing this organization needs to get upset about, and even getting upset about Ellen Degeneres doing JCP commercials is dumb as well, those commercials are really funny…and HARMLESS!

I think that Urban Outfitters should turn this clothing commercial into a foot worship video, the blonde on the left needs to get on her knees and suck the feet of her wife/papi and suck them real real good, she’s been shopping all day trying to buy the blonde on the left a proper virgin wedding dress.

it looks like the girl on the right is kissing a dead person…so no it is not offensive in my opinion. i think it is pointless that they are kissing though because what is the point??? obviously they are doing it for the ad but why??? they are selling clothes??? i don’t get it and WHY did they give Santorum’s campaign money? oh my god this is just all stupid as hell hahaha.

@Cho_0705@xanga - they want kids to think that they are supporting the popular vote of the young people, so that young people feel good about funding the company. It is all about business, and pretty effed up if you ask me. 

I don’t think it’s at all confusing what they’re doing.  Obviously, they don’t like gay people so they will donate money to politicians who promise to keep things like gay marriage illegal.  However, they’re just another greedy corporation who will take anybody’s money, so they will market to groups they hate.

I saw the add.  I liked the add a lot.  It made me take a second and third look at the clothes on the page and it made me feel like supporting that company by spending more money there,  because the company has the balls to do something unique.
