Actually, this has been going on for a while in Japan and in alternative fashion communities. i used to be into this look. It’s very cute, but VERY high maintenance and awful for your skin.

I have actually thought about trying this.  I think with some intense makeup, fake lashes, and a little bit of lip art I could make it happen.  I think it’s really cute as a statement look but not something I would ever consider doing on a regular basis.

my question is, why does she have to fake an accent in that video … 

Yes, I also thought it has been going on for way longer there. Not something recent.
This look is too much work for me and I like to get by in comfy clothes. 

to look like a barbie doll/ulzzang all you need is fake lashes and circle lenses, bam you’re done! i’ve done that look before, it’s cute, but it’s not something i want to look like everyday. only when i want to do photoshoots, 

I think it’s a creepy and freaky look that only Chucky would dig.

Doesn’t bother me, it’s cute in it’s own way. The girl in the video is 15 and she dresses and looks like that all the time. I would get frustrated, all that work to look like that? Too lazy. 

Hahaha. That girl is known for using tons and tons of photoshop. She does not look like that in real life. On top of it, she’s homophobic, racist, sizeist, and ableist. There’s videos out there but her psycho mom tries to get them all deleted. I wouldn’t be surprised if said psycho mom saw this and spammed my blog with abuse, then tried to sue me with a lolsuit.

And yes, it is possible to shop videos. You can see her features wiggling around from inconsistent shopping in some of her videos.

I can’t even look at a doll without feeling uncomfortable so this honestly bothers me. Do what you will to your face and good luck with the bullshit it does to your skin but I can’t look at a person like that without shuddering.

I think this depends on features. Small lips, big eyes, and small noses. Anything else won’t work so well.

Personally I don’t even think it’s cute… I find it rather creepy

I do my makeup “doll” like at least 2 times a week. I figure since I look young no matter how I do my makeup I mise well look cute. As weird as it might sound I kinda like being told I look like barbie/a doll.

I don’t mind it. Wouldn’t do it every single day though, but definitely if I feel like having a bit of fun.

My friend has a serious phobia of dolls though, so I wouldn’t be able to be around her. :p

Like someone already mentioned.. the girl in the first couple photos in a terrible person and there is a lot of drama surrounding her. Her sister is “Kiki Kannibal,” someone I’m sure you’ve seen tons of photos from when Myspace was the cool thing to have friends on. They’re both pathological liars, racists, homophobes, starving for attention.. I’m surprised more people don’t know who she is. Plus all their photos are terribly photoshopped.

I don’t know about dolls, but I do want to look like an anime character/elf/fairy from time to time. 

I do this whenever I cosplay at anime conventions. Only then though, because it’s so hard to do honestly and expensive. And, I don’t want to look like a doll all of the time. Though, I’ll probably do it tomorrow to see what kind of looks I get from people in the airport.

Venus has that doll-like face, not in a Barbie sense, but porcelain type of dolls. Her face is round. Plus she’s into Lolita and things like that.

The model, Lily Cole is a doll, even without make-up…you can’t change that. lol. You can dress her as an evil vixen, she would still look like a doll.

I’m not sure whether this counts: but I have been a fan of the 60s mod doll type of makeup style. I guess I do have a thing for bringing eyes out .

Seems like dolls are like clowns, people are definitely terrified of them. ^___^

@wonderweiss@xanga - Same, My facial features will not allow me to look like an anime character, but I think anyone could look like an elf/fairy with the right costume and make-up ^.^

@coffeeishappinessinacup@xanga - elves have small noses, I don’t XP. but maybe having pointed ears detracts attention away from a less than petite nose.

at one point i was seriously going to do this every day – not considering it, going to do it – and i bought a dress to wear. it didn’t fit very well (it wasn’t a lolita brand and often that’s the best way to go) and i couldn’t wear it. if it had fit, i would probably still be doing it, because it is so much fun and you feel so happy and up beat. i dressed as much like a doll as i could and it was awesome. i felt good, and it didn’t matter if other people thought otherwise. it’s not creepy. i had to stop because it was going to be expensive and i had to move on or get a GREAT job lol
