Ur.... Yeah.  Apparently, April 12th was National Grilled Cheese Day, or as Gleeks like to call it "National Grilled Cheeus Day."  Anyone who watches the show will remember that earlier in season 3, Finn Hudson, resident football and Glee club star, claims to have found the face of Jesus in his grilled cheese sandwich.

The entire episode centers around Finn's "prayers" he makes in honor of his sandwich: for his football team to win a game, for his girlfriend, glee superstar Rachel Berry to let him touch her boobs, and for him to be reinstated as quarterback (after a messy fight).  When his first wish appears to come true, suddenly the whole glee cast is praising the Lord, well, his face on this grilled cheese sandwich.  Who would have thought a simple sandwich could be so religious?

I almost wish this episode had premiered this week rather than in September.  Because when I logged on Twitter on Thursday morning and saw it was National Grilled Cheese Day, I was confused yet very pleasantly surprised.  I happen to be a big supporter of the grilled cheese revolution.  Then again, which college student isn't?  While "National Grilled Cheese Day" was trending when I woke up that  morning, throughout the day that trend expanded to include the Glee episode — a connection I hadn't previously made.

Nonetheless, not only did this put me in the mood to eat a delicious grilled cheese, but I also have the urge to log on to Hulu and catch up on Glee.  I'm pretty sure I will be partaking in both of these activities.  Who knows what kinds of faces could be burnt into my gooey, cheesy sandwich?

What did you think of the Glee "Grilled Cheesus" episode?  Did you celebrate National Grilled Cheese day?
