The latest victim of magazine cover airbrushing is Megan Fox on the cover of France’s Grazia. Yes, even the one of the hottest women in Hollywood can fall victim the altering brush of photoshop.
Megan Fox graces the cover of Grazia dressed in a revealing white and black racerback frock, which exposes most of her tattoo covered back. Although one of her tattoos, a Shakespeare King Lear quote: “We will all laugh at gilded butterflies”, was shown on the cover, her other tattoo – a Nietzsche quote:”‘And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music”, was erased.
The strangest part of this photoshopped cover? The inside pages of the same edition of the magazine, the exact same shot of Megan is featured with her tattoo still intact.
I’m a little confused about this one. Lovelies, what do you think?

I think maybe they didn’t want the tattoo to be on the cover. If they kept it in the magazine I don’t think it’s a big deal. It would have been if they took it out completely.

smh.

My main thought is that it’s because the tattoo’s text disrupts the covers text. They could change their own font or move her image over, but they probably have one person do the pictures and another do the cover layout and cover layout person probably felt that it’d be easier to just get rid of her tattoo.
But getting rid of tattoo’s is no big deal, and pretty common especially on covers. Not a fan of the inside image though, the color makes her skin look way too artificial.

Maybe they didn’t want more words on the cover.

I’m with @JusticeCho@xanga. I think it is because the tattoo that was photoshopped out would’ve ran under the cover text, and made to look messy.

Why an actress/model chooses to get that many hideous tats is beyond me, but it’s Megan and I’m convinced she’s not right in the head more and more each day.
guest
it’s still her tattoo and a big photoshop. if they didn’t want the tattoo in there they should have gotten a dress to cover it. i don’t think they should have photoshopped it.

The tattoos are quite distracting, especially the one that goes side ways and gets cut off by the dress. I mean it’s all about the aesthetics and the focus of the magazine cover. Plus they kept the one that wasn’t cut off. I’m pretty sure Megan Fox wouldn’t give a care. Not a big deal.

but the pictures with the tattoo in tact actually looks MORE photoshopped.

I didn’t even notice that they removed her tattoo, I went straight to, “wtf is with her face? obvious photoshop is obvious…” but yeah, I guess the tattoo is gone too, big whoop. Her face looks like a doll’s. And that isn’t a compliment in this case, sorry Megan.

I’ve always wondered why people would get quotes tattooed…
guest
They probably didn’t want the “SPECIAL MODE D’ETE” to overlap her tattoo.
Also, with the tattoo being at the center of the image (and the quote being long and making you tilt your head), it would distract too much from all of the other words they’d want you to see at a glance. I guess.
They probably also didn’t want an incomplete quote on their magazine cover.

Maybe they asked her and she didn’t care. Just a thought.

I think you shouldn’t worry about it.

is it just me or her fingers look a little off?

I understand what commenters are saying about there being too much text on the cover.
What concerns me is why the heck a magazine would use the same image twice??
guest
Well, I don’t blame ‘em; I’d photoshop it too — too much tats shown’.

One thing it may be is that it doesn’t sync well with the overall text. the leading lines in the image take away from what is displayed on the cover, which is the selling point. they are still a business after all.

I understand why…because of text over text, but whoever photoshopped…really got careless on smoothing out the dress….My OCD would have gone hay-wire while editing that. D:

It seems the text on the cover might have had less “pop” with the tattoo’s writing underneath it.
guest
guess they thought it looked a little too cluttered for the cover because there are so many other words on it in general? hm.. I dunno :\
guest
Being a person with a tattoo, I wouldn’t want my ink to be photoshopped out of the pic. I’m passionate about art and body art like tattooes and the reasons behin them, and I got mine for a reason. Yeah it might make their cover look less cluttered, however, they’re the ones who decided to put her in a revealing dress. If it isn’t a big deal to Megan then it isn’t a big deal. But since you asked what I think, I told you (:

This is further proof that women should NEVER get tattoos. I cannot stand women who have tattoos, piercings etc. They are beneath me.

I don’t really like the placement of the tattoo anyways, I love the rest her and her tattoos in general though.

well I can understand why they would want to photoshop that one out it gets rid of the sexiness a little, in my opinion, bit its not so much of a big deal really I’m sure some stars have had worst things photoshopped
guest
@raised_bywolves@xanga - Why not?

It’s really no big deal. I dated a graphic designer once, I promise it’s merely an aesthetic balance issue or something lol.
