Have any broken or loose pigment eye shadow that’s in a great color, but such a hassle to put on? Guess what! Those once useless palettes can be put to good use: a new nail polish right from your eyeshadow!
All you have to do is take your old eyeshadow, mix it with clear nail polish in a bowl and voila! Simple, no?

I can not wait to try this with all the crazy shadow colors I have. I love the matte effect in the first Mac example; I’m definitely hoping for that type of effect with my shadows.
Lovelies, have any of you tried this? How did it look? Do you have any other tips or tricks?

This is such an awesome and fun idea.

I haven’t tried this yet but I saw it on a blogger’s website recently. She used a silicone baking cup instead of a bowl though. She leaves the leftover polish to dry inside the baking cup and pops it out in one piece instead of using remover to clean the bowl.

The first one looks so cool. I really like matte polishes. You can get these matte effect top coats that instantly make any polish matte, which I love.

I did this tonight with a red mineral eyeshadow I got ages ago as a sample (seriously, who could ever pull off metallic red eyeshadow?) and I absolutely love it! So easy and a great way to use all the old eyeshadows I never wear. Excited to try it with other colours soon

thats quite awesome actually! i can mix my own colours too!!!

haha wow that’s pretty cool!
I don’t like the finish though, I’d probably go over it with some shiny clear after, but that’s just me!

i like the purple!

Yeah this is super neat! But broken pressed eyeshadow can still be used sometimes lol. I guess it’ll depend on the brand and how much the eyeshadow is worth. I’d hate for a $18 color turn into $18 nail polish when OPI is only about $8
