Considering how much makeup they are required to wear, no, I am not shocked nor appalled. Am I supposed to be shocked that from a closer distance and with harsh lighting situations they don’t look as perfect as they are portrayed to be?

i think some’re quite, but many of them are normal.

I think we all already knew how much makeup they wear and that they get wrinkles as they get older, just like anyone else.

OMG .Celebrities are real people with real faces that have real imperfections???

Oh, man, I would not want my face held up to this level of scrutiny, but it is good that we acknowledge that no one is perfect. Sometimes the standard set seems impossibly high.

Nose hairs and boogers, they are human after all. 

but like, no one looks good that close up and with that high of contrast.

What is appalling about this? They look like people up close. This might be one reason we don’t routinely stand one inch from someone while we’re speaking to them. It’s just an odd perspective, but they look normal.

Probably Rihanna and Angelina Jolie. As someone who knows all too well the horrors of acne, it was almost refreshing to see these two beautiful women with blemishes as well. It makes them seem more ‘normal’ to me.

I’m not that shocked.  However, I do have a strange urge to help some of them wash their face.  (Katy, Zooey. Christina)  SO much makeup!

Yeah….no. Jennifer Aniston’s face is lovely.

I have to say thanks for this for one reason, which is that I can now see that Zooey has my exact eye color. I’ll have to try out some of her makeup looks. 

It’s so lovely that these people looking less than perfect is shocking and “appalling” to some of you. Get over yourselves. You’re not flawless so why the hell do you expect them to be?

I wouldn’t call it apalling so much as refreshing- it’s a good reminder that famous people aren’t the “cream of the crop, elite of the elite beautiful humans of the world”- they’re manufactured and packaged for our consumption by a team of people pre-photos and post-phots. Sure, they offer a talent or a base beauty but they have normal human skin like the rest of us. I have always felt I had horrible skin (constantly flaky dry, occasional breakouts) but after getting my first facial last week and told by the woman I had excellent pores and my skin was taken care of fantastically (probably all those creams to combat the flakes). I had taken it with a grain of salt because let’s face it, I’m not paying her to insult me. But comparing to this, I can totally appreciate my skin now. 

hanks for posting this, I don’t like that I had to get a self esteem boost at someone at the celebrity’s expense, but it really helps to remind people like me that flawless skin and a spotless complexion is very few and far between- maybe I shouldn’t hate on my face texture so much

Omg, you mean they’re….people???  With PORES?  Be proud and own your pores, even the elite and beautiful have them.

FACT: No one looks good close up

FACT: My mum’s 50 next year and her skin looks better than these 30something year-old celebrities! *proud daughter!* ….I hope I inherit her genes!

Oh come on Lovelyish. It’s times like these that I really think about not visiting this site anymore. These are people and these pictures are fine. I am certainly not “appalled” by anything except for maybe this site for publishing a blog bashing the appearance of others. Get a grip and show some responsibility for what you publish.

appalled??? hahaha. Do you not understand what that word means, or are you just so superficial that you actually believe it to be the appropriate word to use?

I don’t really find it appalling that celebrities, being real human beings, have pores in their skin.

Yeah. I still can’t get over how many women put on TOO much makeup… No wonder they look so nice from far away in those photos.

Geez that is A LOT of makeup! O.O Some of these people have foundation basically caked onto their skin.

These pictures are not shocking, the perfect photoshopped pictures in comparison are shocking. It’s shocking how much they are altered in every image we ever see of them.

Gemma Ward’s skin is actually pretty nice, gotta like her cute freckles <3 

I just can’t believe how much make up some of them have caked on their face. Yeah, everyone has imperfections, but holy hell that is so much foundation on a few. All of their eyes look gorgeous. 

They’re all wearing way too much foundation/concealer/powder. Gemma Ward looks perfect though and she isn’t wearing makeup at all. Her teeth are a bit yellow, but that’s just a cute imperfection since she’s so perfect otherwise. Jessica Alba and Blake Lively both look great too! And Angelina, of course. She’s getting old, but her skin still looks amazing.

Zoey has like a mustache and soul patch…

It’s allways good to be reminded, we’re all human, celebs or not. Some cosmetic surgery really doesn’t do any good so sometimes it’s better not being able to afford it. Some of these women are very beautiful, especially Blake Lively. 

zooey’s false bottom lashes are creepy crawly and her eyecolor are like the exorcist demon girl eyesO_O

I think half of them look fine, it’s just the ones with heavy caked-on makeup that look a bit on the gross side of things.

Thick foundation would make anyone’s skin look like gluggy crap.
