We all know Katy Perry has her own sense of style, and she’s not afraid to break the rules. She’s had blue hair for so long now, and it doesn’t seem like she’s going to change it anytime soon! Maybe she’s using her unique style to set her apart from other pinup girls?
If you’re tired of her blue hair, then you probably shouldn’t pick up the May issue of Teen Vogue. She has her signature blue hair and wears a matching blue Zac Posen dress.
In her interview, Katy explains why she continues to try to be a pinup girl by saying:
Like, I’m still doing the pinup thing, but now when I do it, I want to be the pinup of the future, like Rachael in Blade Runner. But I’ve always been quirky—it probably started when I was nine years old, and my father used to wake me up at seven every Saturday morning to take me to garage sales. I couldn’t afford the clothes that the other girls at school were wearing, so instead I looked for things that were unique to me.
Knowing who her style icons are helps me make a little more sense of why her style is so out there. Katy told Teen Vogue that her style icons are Agyness Deyn, Chloë Sevigny, Daphne Guinness, Natalie Wood, Judy Jetson and Wonder Woman. That list doesn’t actually surprise me.

Do you think Katy has the style to be the pinup of the future? What do you think of her style?

I like it, she has a provocative class!

Usually, I label her style as fun, feminine, and sassy. I like her style. I’m not much of a fan of Katy’s music, but her blue hair is cute.

I really can’t tolerate her music much with the exception of a couple songs, but I love her style and LOVE LOVE her blue hair. Wish I could get mine that color without it fading in 2 weeks

No, she does not pull it off well at ALL. I think she tries too hard and the blue hair is childish and unattractive. My 14 YEAR OLD sister had blue hair, then decided it was immature. If you wanna see someone who can pull off the pinup look, I would have to say Karmin on Youtube.

Her comment can be interpreted in two ways. In one, it comes off as a goal: to be the one men of the future are pinning up on their walls. In the other, it sounds like she’s trying to emulate what she believes the pinup of the future will be. To the first, eh, whatever. To the second, I think that’s actually pretty cool and makes so much more sense of her fashion choices.

her music is awful and she is not the least bit attractive.

:/ I want her to go away. I think I’d be less annoyed if Perez wasn’t constantly promoting her and putting down Russell Brand. Regardless of that, the music is terrible and generic. However, it’s still music and there are people who like it, so whatever. I just wish she’d go away.

I dont like or dislike her, I haven’t followed her much. I noticed that in a majority of her photos, though, she does that hand on the hip thing and it gets a little cliche after awhile. Then again, what else are you supposed to do when you have a bunch of people snapping your photo.

I really liked her pink hair better. But she almost always looks good and I, as someone who often wears the pinup-look, am very glad that she has helped bring some widespread recognition to the pin-up look again.
