I want this Nikon camera lens more than anything!
I’m a blogger, and I frequently read other blogs. The other day, I was reading a blog and the author said she had just received a new camera lens for her birthday. I’m a photographer, so I was extremely happy for another photographer (and blogger).
But the whole situation got me thinking. My birthday is a little over a month away, and I really, really need a new lens. So I did some research and found exactly what I want. Best Buy has this lens for $199.99. It guarantees to let more light in since it has a wider aperture. Sorry for the tech talk. That just means that I can take better pictures indoors without using flash. (I don’t like flash!) I really hope that I can somehow manage to afford this because it’s all I can think about. No, seriously. I had a dream about it last night!
Have you ever wanted something so bad you can’t stop thinking about it?

I’m like this, but not about things like cameras or computers, but rather events like jobs, education, etc. I’m literally, and thankfully, obsessed with my field of work, and spend hours and hours a day researching and researching it.

I am getting anxious to put my kayak in again. It got nice for 2 weeks and the water had started warming and I was hoping to put in at the end of the month, but my yak isn’t good for the cold water. so I’ll have to wait. but it haunts my dreams as well.

Penis!!! I can’t be the only one.

Hopefully you’re asking for Best Buy gift cards for your birthday. 200 dollars is a lot.

Only things I shouldn’t really buy!

@ShimmerBodyCream@xanga - I think most of us wish for the entire body instead of the single penny part.

Yes, absolutely.
I hope your birthday wishes come true. =)

$200 is an extremely small price to pay for a lens (coming from a photographer).

Two months ago, I really wanted a Playstation 3. Every morning for about two weeks, I’d think, “Today is the day I go out and buy myself a Playstation 3.” but I’d always find excuses not to, like waiting for a sale, or a good deal on a used one, or “why even bother when the new ones aren’t backwards compatible with PSone/PS2 games.” I ended up not buying it and now, two months later, I don’t even think about it. I’m actually glad I didn’t buy it because I probably wouldn’t be playing it right now.

Yeah. It’s usually about lenses too.

I’ll just leave this here: http://photojojo.com/store/

@KevEats@xanga - I agree!!!

As a photographer, I’d freakin love to only pay $200 for a lens. I hope you get what you want.

Best buy is a huge rip off. I bought my NikonD3100 for $200 less then the best buy price at another store. Try finding the same lens somewhere else.

I want a dslr camera so bad that I can’t stop thinking about it, but I can’t afford it. Not even a used one :[ It really just makes me sad.

It’s annoying but yes this has happened to me too ):
And I’ve recently been thinking of/obsessing over buying a Bamboo tablet although I PROBABLY shouldn’t..

just buy it already~
as for the flash, i suggest you to borrow a SB600 or something and try it off camera, then maybe u will change your opinion about it.

1) That lens would be way cheaper and the same quality on ebay.
2) If you buy the D or G version vs. the DX version, you’ll save a pretty penny and not lose any pertinent features.
3) If you can find an old manual focus version, it will be around $75-130. I don’t know if you’re at a point yet in your photography where you can use manual lenses, but if so, you should definitely consider this option.
@Seameyes6@xanga - Not to make any assumptions about your financial situation, but I got my DSLR for 200 dollars two years ago meaning today it’s around… maybe $150? No it doesn’t have the most “pixels” but it’s still a fantastic camera. Look around, ask questions. I hope you can find one because they can teach you so much about photography. If that’s still out of your price range and you haven’t done so already, consider upgrading from a point-and-shoot to an SLR. You’ll still have the learning experience at a fraction of the price.
@KevEats@xanga - While you’re right, there are lots of us working with smaller budgets (college students, umemployed, etc) who still have the passion and the eye for photography. Personally I’ve never bought a piece of equipment (including my camera body) that cost more than $250, and lots of my work has been recognized. I’m not disagreeing with you, just saying that I wish for pro-sumer and consumer photographers vs. pros there was more emphasis on using equipment well, rather than having the “best,” newest (and most expensive) equipment.

@bittentothequick@xanga - Oh trust me, a person should know how to use a camera, whether it be expensive or not. I am not putting an emphasis on the price tag of equipments by any means, but rather the average spending money on the equipments in the digital age. The advancement of technology obviously helps tremendously, and with that, the budget will also increase.
