Dakota Fanning showed off a different accessory than usual at the GLAAD Media Awards. Her new accessory: glasses! Are these glasses granny chic?
The 18-year-old actress wore a beautiful dress as usual, but when she was on stage she pulled out a pair of glasses. She probably needed them to see the teleprompter to read. Dakota was wearing a vintage Halston dress, Fred Leighton jewelry and Manolo Blahnik heels. She looked so glamorous. Did the clear plastic-rimmed glasses change her look to “geeky hipster”?
Her sister Elle usually sports the granny style. Maybe Dakota is following in her younger sister’s footsteps.
What do you think of Dakota’s glasses?

I dont think glasses should be part of “fasion”.. Sure, you can get nice pairs or whatever. but they are used for people to see better. They shouldn’t get judged for wearing glasses..Not everyone can wear contacts either, I cant
I miss my blue ones

Glasses aren’t a fashion accessory. Sunglasses, sure, but not regular glasses. I mean, yeah, you can get cute ones or “stylish” ones, but I have glasses so I can actually live a normal life, not to look cool or trendy.

They’re… glasses… Maybe she actually needs them to see? Didn’t feel like popping in the contacts today? It’s whatever. Her choice of eye wear is totally fine by me. And I think the clear plastic rims are awesome. Plus, she’s too cool to care if someone is analyzing her outfits head-to-toe and labeling her style. As we all should be!

Glasses are usually a necessary vision aid, not on par with..earrings and bracelets. Maybe she just doesn’t like laser or contacts?

I think she looks adorable!

MISS. I just wish her glasses were a little smaller and a different color, possibly darker brown.

Not an accessory–glasses are for vision! She looks cute though.

For some reason the glasses paired with the beautiful dress just looks wrong. Anyway, if she needed them to read, no biggie.

Uh, no. I’m going to hope she actually needed them and wasn’t make a fashion statement. I think people who wear non-corrective glasses for fashion (I hate the term geek-chic) are dumb. Sorry but not sorry.
