If you tried to get directions on Google Maps a few hours ago, you saw this Oregon Trail-esque map instead of the usual 21st century design. That was just Google playing a good old April Fools’ joke on you.
Now I know what an 8-bit map is. Educational pranks are the best pranks. Thanks, Goog.
I always forget about April Fools’ Day — which is tomorrow! — until someone decides to play a joke on me and I’m left with nothin’. And even if I do remember, I’m usually too lazy to go through the whole rig-a-ma-rol of planning and executing a prank of the caliber that April Fools’ Day requires. But one day, one sweet day, I will know what an April 1st victory tastes like. (via Mashable )
Do you guys play April Fools’ jokes on your friends and family? What’s the best April 1st prank you’ve pulled on someone or someone has pulled on you?

The best prank ever was in 2011 when I changed my relationship status to married & posted a recent pic (probably within 5 or so years) of Chris Kirkpatrick from Nsync with a half true story about me meeting him in Disney World New Years Eve 2008. It was half true because I was actually there. I wrote about how we met in Epcot Japan & he made an excuse to talk to me by asking what should be buy his little sisters & then we got married at city hall a few months after & he promised me a big wedding when I finished school.
The reason why that trick worked is because he looks older than he did in Nsync’s heyday so no one recognized him right away & some people I know werent into pop music & didnt know him. I got SO many congratulation messages & texts & people were asking to see my ring. The ONLY person who knew it was a joke was one of my best friends because she was HUGE into Nsync back in the 90s. When I finally told people the truth, they couldnt believe it!! I’m gonna make a blog about it & post the picture & the story.
We STILL laugh about it! I dont think I can ever top that. What’s ironic is I’m officially announcing my engagement tomorrow when my fiance is coming to visit. It’s not a joke, it just happened to be the only day he can come down but I’m putting a disclaimer in my status so people dont get the wrong idea!

I don’t really do an actual prank, however, I answer peoples’ questions with other questions and usually they don’t even get their answer. It’s wonderful because they get so confused.

The only April Fool’s joke I ever did was a handful of my friends and I changed our birthdays to April 1st on facebook. We assumed people from high school would have picked it up (hey, 5 birthdays and they are all good friends? Fishy) and I definitely didn’t think I’d get away with it (my birthday was March 21st, and people wished me a Happy Birthday then). But we fooled some people. One girl wished me a happy birthday twice without realizing it. I did feel bad, though, because a guy I knew stopped me in the student center and wished me a happy birthday and I awkwardly admitted it was a joke.
The cruelest joke to be pulled on me was a friend IMed when we were freshman in high school and said someone broke into her house and killed her cat, and that the police wouldn’t believe her when she called because it was 4/1. It was messed up, and she drew it out for awhile. She finally said it was a joke when she got scared I might call the police for her.
